I'm gonna have to write a list at this rate... I'll see if Haggis pies are doable, leave it with me!

If you were doing 'choo choo I'm a train' to Dundee, Clark's would be perfect. Had a lovely steak + haggis pie from there this morning.

Sandford Orchards visited and two containers of scrumpy purchased;  Shiters must be warned that overfilling their systems with said fluids could result in a personal FTP

bring your own drinking container

I've not packed at all yet, but I do like scrumpy so marking my interest with a white lie.

If it's proper scrumpy I may have to indulge. Never had the real stuff.

I'm setting off in the morning. I was going to leave a week ago and walk up but then a lady happened so I'm gonna hitch instead. After the hitchhike debacle two years ago I'm giving myself plenty of time.

Look forward to acquainting/reacquainting with as many of you as possible before I cease being able to focus properly.

Transit passed it's retest today, so am awash with shite vehicles to choose from, however only this one has the camping capabilities Our Lass will put up with - tents are oot :-(

So probably not going to show up in the Saab of Eddy, peugeot of freeness ex breadvan, or Magentis of Stixty, unless hotel/b n b can be achieved in very short time - anyone any ideas??

Do I need to register with anyone or can we just show up and pay camping fees?

Ta muchly :-D

I have FOUND my tent, at the back of the shed on top of 4 daisies off an Mx5. Had to move 4 alloys off an omega, a spare off the bini and a random tyre out of the way, plus 3 bikes, and 4 chairs.  Also realised we own 3 cat carriers, and 3 litter trays.

Brother in law has made a BBQ and I have a Bottle of Haig Club to bring.

Nope, hero

Actually Hairnet, surely you have a bike and spare helmet so offer him a lift.

No need to book you can just turnup and pay.

Had more or less resigned myself to bringing the tent in the volvo. However, the volvo had other ideas and has started pissing oil from the crank seal at the gearbox end.

Not sure whether to spend tomorrow pulling a gearbox out of a XC90 or have a go at putting the van back together. Bear in mind it's been off the road for 18 months, has no doors, no seats, no front end and half an engine.

What do we think??

^ I'd be wanting to take my time on the van, so as I didn't leave anything out

Like coolant, or an engine mount.

Just saying, like

The best* thing to do would be to hit ebay > items ending soonest, on Thursday night, collect Friday, then roll over to Lincs like a boss, and celebrate with ales.

Sensible answer is use one of your other 25 cars!

AS is fix the van :-)

I can come and help/poke/hold you back tomorrow if you want

Posted

Haha!

Van fixage is in progress...should have a better picture of feasibility etc by teatime.

I know there's plenty to choose from but where's the fun in that?

Actually, just remembered I've got a wing for that misshaped C5 of RichardK's....that'd be a bit shite looking, with different coloured panels! ;-)

Isn't your tester an alcoholic though? How much scotch did you leave in the boot?

He's off the drink just now surprisingly! It was a very thorough test too. Even checked the improvised screenwash solution...

Right, I'm on my way to pick up a leak-free Jag, and with provisional permission in place providing I am back home for 19:00, I will be wafting up. What are the chances of the Jag behaving itself for the rest of the week?

Well that's sorted that then, I recieved this lovely polite reply to my nicely worded paragraph

Why do I have a feeling they will watch us like hawks and we won't have the freedom of previous shitefests? Either way, no car cleaning will take place and I'll be putting my gear back away later...
