Half price - come with lifetime guarantee. Just bought some because my old kamasa ones are well worn.

I am not Halfords biggest fan but at £7 deffo worth a punt.

And when the tips shear off you can peel back the foil and eat the chocolate inside.

Ignore the brand, these are shit hot http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AM-TECH-12PC-HEAVY-DUTY-ENGINEERS-MECHANICS-SCREWDRIVER-SET-HEX-BOLSTERS-CASE-/152087286162?hash=item23691bd192:g:UkEAAOSw3mpXM1VX

12 pc set, tough as you need and the hex drive is a very useful addition.

Halfords advanced screwdrivers are good in my experience - given them some abuse and they hold up

£7 is a bargain.

Seems to just be me. I have both sets they do, and have had them break when trying to undo wood screws. :/

Cheers Bren.

I've just bought myself a set as I've been using my old set as crowbars.

If you get in quick you can get them for £5.95 as it's something to do with the Black Friday sale which for some reason is on a Wednesday

A £5.95 it's a no brainer, cheers for the heads up I've clicked and (will) collect....

Can always give them to Father egg for Xmas anyway!

If they're the proper professional sets they've been banging out for about 15 years then they're sound. I've about 20 or 30 miscellaneous screwdrivers from them sets and they're all I've ever used since they came out.

That said about 5 years ago I bought a Makita impact driver so I've barely used a screwdriver since.

My money would go on the Wera laser tips if I'm honest, about £16 at toolstation. A tenner more but some really top level screwdrivers.

I use them Wera ones at work and the laser etched tip stuff wears off in no time. They're decent screwdrivers but the 10 year old Halfords ones are just as good. If the ones they sell today are the same quality then you can't go wrong for £7!

At that price I'm buying your recommendation anyway but I'm surprised you've had those problems -at least they replace them if they break :)

8 piece for £7. Or 6 piece for £15?

I'll have a think about that.

Think I'll buy overrun's. Looks like you can use a hammer on them.

As anyone knows, you can, and must, use a hammer on ALL screwdrivers. It's a law, or an old charter or some such.

Anybody who thinks these aren't any good should try a Rolson set.

Were they good?

I have a couple of Halfords screwdrivers & they've been OK. I shall be buying a set of these now, cheers Bren.

I got a set of those free with a gallon of oil, about 5 years ago, maybe more. They're pretty good.

Picked up my set earlier, woman had to double check the price as they were less than 6 quid. not opened them up yet as they are a Christmas present :-P

I think Rolson are even worse than Blackspur or Silverline.

I have a set of Rolson chrome-vanadium spanners which I bought about 5 years ago and which have been brilliant.  They were on offer at the time - a set of normal spanners from 6mm to 19mm and a set of stubbies from 8mm to 14mm for 8 quid.  Only problem is the main set jumps in size from 14 to 17mm, so GR0 for undoing bike wheelnuts (which all seem to be 15mm) or Volvo 164 brake caliper bolts which are 16mm.

Having said that, I also bought a set of Rolson drill bits and they were made out of Dairylea.

I've had a few sets of these screwdrivers. They get hammered to buggery at work and hold up really well. I don't think I've ever smashed one. I tend to lose them well before that. I've just ordered 4 sets. Cheers for the heads up!

A while ago these were free with any gallon drum of Halfords oil. Used them as pry bars, chisels an all sorts at work on building site. Worth 7 quid all day

the first time they ran that offer (i think?) they accidentally gave me the bigger set with the case and stuff and I wasn't about to put them right. Still going strong. 10/10 would defraud again.

I picked up a set of these in Halfords this afternoon.  I was in there ordering a new Chris Boardman bicycle.  I am such a hipster.

Also, just realised that my previously mentioned surprisingly decent spanners are Blackspur, not Rolson.
