Phase 3: boring modern

This is the one I was chasing on social media, after a no-holds-barred frenzy from all the usual suspects pushing the price up and pissing about. I'd been first to reply to one of the adverts, said I'd buy it, then every tit and his wife jumped in offering anything up to 150% more than the asking price.

Anyhow, surprise surprise someone offered him more, came to see it then pissed about, so I got it for the original asking price, despite (and I kick myself for doing so) offering to match a 50% more offer someone else had offered.

Collected it before, not without problems such as: EML on, but he'd replaced the coil pack so we turned it off and it's stayed off so far. Smokes between quite badly to nothing. Front bumper slightly off kilter.

It's a 1.0 3 banger and it is mind bogglingly quick. I soon discovered the rev limiter in first gear. Then second. It's such a laugh to drive , if any kids get one of these and their mates laugh at them, it'll be the owner who smiles the most.

I had one as a courtesy car in France when the c5 ingested its fuel pump. It was great round the twisty mountain roads in Alsace and, like you say, very revvy.

Ive liked these for a while. What price did you give for this lovely little motor then? or is asking rude???

£200, tested until Feb.

I'm slightly concerned, of late Cavcraft appears to be getting quite respectable stock in, I demand a return to the old days of petrol powered mobility scooters, swaps for ice-cream fridges, or the next thing you know he'll be putting up "white-room" photographs or getting the yellow gravel, palm trees and fake sunshine out.

I don't think you need to panic, without much searching you should be able to find threads on a chainsaw powered Raleigh shopper and a Korean moped, I think the average standard is about where it's always been.

It's a 55 plate this Shitroen too, so a pretty good result methinks.

I was trying to gauge what sort of vintage it would be, £200 for a 55 plate, how is this even possible. It's practically brand new

Also depressing that even at 50% more than that people are still messing sellers around, wtf do they expect for £300?

Bloody hell, didn't realise these had shat out all their value.

Is it a proper manual or one of those weird +/- things?

Posted

'Normal' manual. I reckon it helped (me) that the EML was on and it was smoking, I suspect it put off all the e-experts who know the price of everything and the value of eff all. It had to be worth the money for the Feu Orange rear lights.

What a winner!

Race my 54 plate £200 Alto? Bought with EML on (bank 2 O2 sensor).

Just seen this on facehole - that is a MEGA BARG if ever saw one. Just a shame that it's smoking or else I would be mega interested, I take it the smoke is of the blue coloured variety?

It seemed oily but it's a bit weird as it clears up then starts again. Just looked through the paperwork and it was a Cat C or D at some point.

I disagree with the title. C107Gos aren't the dullest thing around by any means and scoring one for £200 is definitely interesting.

Should earn you a fair few quid that you could waste on buying more bloody Vauxhalls.

I reckon it's got to be worth £400 as it stands, it's had a new coil pack (£107, I think my son said the receipt mentioned) and a new back box exhaust. Needs a couple of tyres as a bit close to the limits for my liking.

Stick some stop smoke snake oil in it and send it to the block, you'll see £700+ easy if it's not filling the hall with smoke
