God Help me - Advice needed

Aware I'm going to get the piss taken out of me something rotten, but the wife has decided she'd like one of these.

Aware they are based on a Micra, so hopefully should be fairly easy to maintain.

Just wondered if anyone had the misfortune to be involved with one, and could offer any advise other than run away.

Cheers

(It comes to something when I suggested she gets a Ford Ka instead)

Go for it, looks fine from the front or back, and these days a real Jag may well be some kind of grotty Ford under the skin anyway.

I'm honestly surprised there aren't any Mitsuoka owners among us.

Based on a K11?

They are K11s, with extra Jaguar-esque bits tacked on one or both ends - they come in hatchback (that looks shit), or saloon.

Do it!

Rot the main concern here I think. That and neglect "because it's a Nissan" and therefore obviously doesn't need to be serviced...

I'm dissapointed they never did anything with the interior. Such a shame

Me too, exterior looks ok*, why not do something with the seats etc rather than leaving stock?

This is the OP's chance to have a go at improving it 'tho, so go for it I say :-D

Point her at a Nissan Pao instead, far more groovy interiors, and the styling isn't bad............

Some of them were jazzed up a bit inside. EDIT - this is a Mitsuoka Ray. Sorry.

Pao is a good call, or a Be-1.

Here is the RAY in all its glory.

A lot of their parts are interchangable with  Mk2 Jags you know .. And a Daimler hemi easily fits the Nissan, albeit transverse. Fact.

Yeah, interior treatments seem to vary massively from one to the next, some have boggo K11 interiors (even with Nissan badged steering wheels), whereas some have "wood" and "leather" (can't say if either are real) everywhere.

Don't the rear subframes fall off on K11s or something equally terminal rot related?

Get it bought without delay! I like those no end and would love one but fear of social rejection scares me... oh yes, I am a social reject so I'd better start hunting eBay :)

I was only wondering about those yesterday. Don't know what made me wonder but... Are the "Jaguar" bits metal or fibre glass?

Get it bought man!!

You can see where the original micra boot lip was then the second boot begins

STRONG with the autoshite, is your Mrs.

You must take it along to Jaguar shows and insist the engine is the V12 with some cylinders lopped off.

The k10 micra based Nissan Figaro seem to be a great wee yoke too. Although they fetch strong money.

Already messaged the seller re that one, and hopefully speaking to him tomorrow.

Spent 30 mins on the phone to direct line earlier as they have no record of the car. In the end they put me through to technical dept and gave quite on Figaro as import and same car underneath.

Cheers all
