Full service on the 75 today, using GENUWHINE partz. Has lost the slight miss it had when warming up, reset the service indicator with TOAF and adjusted a few things.Topped up the aircon with a Halfords can and it's now FREEZING. I've always had great sucess with these DIY fixes and no compressor blow ups or dead kittens yet,as I've been promised by the professionals... Finally remembered to check the colour code, and it's not Wedgewood blue as mentioned, its IAU Mirage, which apparently is a Monogram colour and a bit rare. Found the oil breather pipes a bit brittle so new ones ordered. I'm liking this thing more and more every day. Need to get a proper 75 shaped rear plate, and get the Serpents refurbed. I think I'll change the wishbone bushes too as they're a bit soft.

Good work!  Reminds me I need to check and clear the plenum drains on mine this week, now the leaves are starting to fall.

What oil did you use just out of interest?

10w40 Comma. semi synth. don't need no fancy stuff on a Rover.

That's exactly what I topped mine up with on Saturday.

Monogram colour's are rare indeed. You prob know this but if you want the build data on your car pop your vin in here.

Smiley plates finish the back of nicely. I need to get the service thingy reset on mine, mate serviced it last month but does'nt have the kit to zero it.

Buy a cheap VAG obd plug, and download TOAF for free. Or, you can bridge wires in the OBD plug to reset it same as BMW's.

Nice, unlikely to see another. Not all might even still be on the road. Like a rare 75 colour myself.

That's pretty much the perfect 75 right there. I'll probably have to have one at some stage. As well as my 825, a 45, a Freelander V6, a Kia Sedona and a Gibbs Aquada to complete my KV6 assortment.

Probably the value just went up! If the previous owner didn't know it was a monogram? There is quite a lot of interest in the monogram cars now as they get rarer.

Mirage 2 is lovely colour! I know a guy in Lanarkshire who has a Tourer in Mirage 2 not seen another saloon though. Yours is one of only three 2.5 V6 SE built in Mirage 2, looking at the data I would say its the first 2.5 se. So its number 1 of 3.

On the same website you put your Vin into there is a monogram data section with graphs and all sorts of information. Also I made up this spread sheet with the info from the website.

I find it pretty sad that there are colours such as Aurora, Biomorphic and Saffron that we will never see on a Rover 75.

Even then, it is pretty interesting to see the popularity of particular monogram cars. Thanks for posting it us.

Bloody hell, thanks Tam. I'd better not park it at asda then... I had no real idea about monogram cars, just always liked the 75.should I put it in a barn,?

Tam, you're scoring very high on the AS anorakometer with that spreadsheet. Brilliant.

Did they ever do/anyone ever buy a black 75 with a red leather interior?

All the 75s I've seen always seem to be light colours and interiors, though I may have seen one with seats the colour of hunter wellies.

Light exteriors seem to have black and dark exteriors seem to be light interiors. I have seen one black car but cannot remember the interior colour.

Very nice Tam love the personal line interiors.

My dads old Dorchester red one had an aubergine leather interior.

And the 3 launch cars we have are all Neptune blue.

Decided to investigate the clonk from the nearside front on the 75 today. It's not going on the road for a bit so looked forward to a relaxed afternoon's spannering in the sunshine. I'm now sitting in the dark, hands in tatters and over 100 quid lighter.

Clonk was the nearside front wishbone rear bush as I suspected- I got some poly ones the other day so started to strip the arm off. The knackered bush looked quite new,but the rubber was badly perished and split...Ebay special I assume.. Every suspension part I've seen cheap off Ebay lasts a few months then the rubber just goes. Whoever fitted this cheap shonky bush took the arm off, splitting all the balljoints with a fork, bursting every boot. Track rod end, bottom balljoint, big inner balljoint and the roll bar link. I assume this was all done for the MOT a few of months back. Battered the arm off, and went to get a new Delphi one, a new track rod end and a boot for the ARB link which had no play, and nipped past my old work to press the polybush in and on to the arm. Found there are odd sized tyres on it too. Car's still on stands in the drive. Should have gone for a run on the bike as I was going to!

I really like this car so it's getting done right, and with a view to the future, but I didn't expect to have to sort out a previous garages mess.

The

Need some mats, but 42 quid? Ouch. Also some previous person has gone mental with white grease spray on the hinges and checks.its a real bugger to get off.

Still not getting anywhere with reasonable insurance,75 is still off the road, but won't manage to have the 75 and 9-5 on he road at he same time.

Nice. Woodern steering wheel is an upgrade

Is the wooden handbrake handle one too? My facelift only has a leather one.

Ooh you have powerfold mirrors too! I love my ZT, I've found myself feeling more love for this and my previous ZT than I have for any other modern I've owned.

Theyre just ridiculous value right now.
