2002 '02' Ford Escort 55 D (1.8 n/a diesel)

MOT expired August this year.

 

Runs and drives spot on, solid underneath and not in bad shape for one of these.

 

I've used it to carry all sorts of typical crap associated with house renovation but it's been abandoned since the MOT expired. It will need a windscreen for the MOT due to a huge crack but other than that I can't see it needing anything major. If I had the time / could be arsed I would whang it in for test, but a more pressing situation has arisen - I've now agreed a let on my old house and don't want to lumber the new tenants with my old shit.

 

Free to collector (subject to a donation being made to this forum) - use it as a mobile skip or put it back on the road.

I had an ex royal mail one. 'T' reg. It failed the m.o.t. at for years old on brake pipes and needed a patch on the cill.

Did I read something about the very last of these Escort vans having excellent quality control, particularly on the rust prevention? Im sure I read that the last batch were used in some sort of training exercise or something????????

Last Ford built at Halewood before turning over to Jaguar for the X-Type, so built to "Jag standards". Thankfully, as Bub proved, not to the same standard as X-Type sills.

I had the joy* of driving one of these for just over a year and can honestly say I hated every moment, it was one of the main reasons why I left the job, hateful thing.

 

(It was fully loaded all the time and Scotland has hills which it did not like)
