Stand outside the houses it's parked by while ringing the landline should narrow it down quick enough.

Note under the windscreen wiper?

Probably gone on a giffer goes wild AWOL trip to see something gifferous.

Or shaking hands with St Peter.

One of the neighbour's will know which house it belongs to.  Thing is it could of been sat there for over a week and the owner gone on holiday / giffer coach trip for a few days.

I would try one of the neighbours, most probably someone will know the old boy and know of his where abouts.  Hope his alright.

I bet the owner's down the local park daubing his/her walking stick in dog shit ready to beat off all the buyers.

It's time for a note under the wiper..

So I've just written a little note and will put it on the car later when I pop into town.post-9282-0-50142500-1473926460_thumb.jpeg

If that doesn't work then I think it's time to get the Megaphone out and walk up and down the street till someone appears lol

Yes! Got through to them at 8.00 this morning, collecting it Saturday and got them down to £80. Getting a lift off my lad, hope the weather stays nice for some topless motoring coming home.

I've just been down and put a note on the car and first off I put it in a bag under the wiper then thought someone might throw it away so I thought I would be clever and slid it between the roof rubber and drivers window.

The only problem was I noticed someone else had also done the same thing but I wasn't sure if it was one of the autoshite surveillance team.

But on the good side at least we are not the only ones who can't get through to the seller.post-9282-0-38029600-1473939989_thumb.jpegpost-9282-0-91559000-1473940020_thumb.jpeg

As you can see the seats are more grey than beige.

I also had a chat to nice old boy at the top of the road who was cleaning his Lexus to see if he knew who's car it was but he didn't have the foggiest idea who it belonged to.

Its probably one of those American type crime shows called bait car or something.

The first one of you to try the doors will result in 25 armed plod jumping out of a nearby blacked out transit, followed quickly by a good kicking and a 20 years to life sentence in the pen.

Was the other note there when you first looked at it?

No it wasn't on the car yesterday morning..

But another Autoshiter has also put a note on the car for Chris under the wiper blade but that one has been removed by someone so it's only got the two notes on the car but I didn't want to do the dirty and take the other note out the window which someone had put there.

First rule of car buying is to eliminate the opposition. Either go back and remove the other note, or text them saying it's your car and you've sold it now.

This thread has mystery of Hitchcockian proportions!

Where is the seller?

Who is the other note leaver?

Why does anyone bother to advertise a car and not answer phone?

Has anyone noted position of the valve caps to see if the car actually goes anywhere?

I'm hooked!

As much as I would like the car, what will be will be.

My friend who has one says it will be a mayo prone car so we are not even sure yet it is any good.

This is the most entertaining thread of ever.

There's actually a website where you can send a text faking which number it's from...

I've tuned in tonight for the next instalment but the plot thickens.

Do we need to all chip in and hire someone to get to the bottom of this...?

Odds on that Charlie Hungerford will know the owner.

Had a couple of these and they are a lot of fun but also practical with good amount of space in the rear and a decent boot. They are more solidly built than an Escort cabbie and minus the scene tax too.......very much would.

Been thinking about this, whilst removing the other note would not have been good form,I however, would most definitely have wrote yesterdays date on mine and today's on the other. He's an old bloke so will recognise and adhere to the" first up best dressed" gentlemanly code

I've just had a look at the car today and all the notes have now gone from the car and the for sale signs have been removed although the car looks like it hasn't moved..

So did the car go to an autoshite member in the end.?
