Has anyone got...a cheapish Transit for sale?

Those stupid bloody windows where you can't see anything out of the side and the gearboxes seem to be made of yoghurt.

I've had a gumtree search saved for vans in my area for a couple of months. Everything in the sub-grand division has been hanging with rust. By 10 years old they are as rotten as an E class merc.

Nearly bought a 10 plate Movano ex water board with no mot and a huge dent in the passenger door for £1050. Mot history was good and was probably being disposed of due to its cosmetics.

Jesus that's cheap

It was at an auction and I bottled it. The next bid won but who knows where it might have ended if I'd kept in.

Technically, a Trafic is a front wheel drive = not a proper van!

Just drive everywhere in reverse.

it's only for collecting cycles, fly tipping and annoying people

And don't forget driving in the middle lane of a three lane dual carriageway at 35/40 mph.

And it must be white.

I messaged him about that yesterday thanks, he said it's gone

Bugger.

There's a work colleague got a transit. He's started using an Astra van just lately.

I'll ask him if he's still got the Transit.

There's a 54 reg Transit with 88k miles for sale in Forres, according to a Facebook group I'm in. £695.

Bit far from you, mind.

That and whoever is brave/silly enough to buy it. ;)

Not many smiley transits left on the roads though.

They were fetching that and more for export last year, it actually doesn't look too bad (on my little phone screen) 3 of the arches are obviously still metal not filler, assuming it's not absolutely hanging id say it's a better buy than a mk 6/7 for the same money

That's exactly what is required for cheap vannage. They just won't die, will do nearly 90, and don't rust like a bastard.

It's a Renault really though.

Posted

That's why it hasn't rusted. ;)

It's the one thing that modern Renault has generally got pretty right.

Look at Megane Mk2 vs Focus Mk1, Clio Mk2 vs Fiesta/KA.

I don't think that Smiley is particularly overpriced, even if the test is a bit on the short side.  It's even LEZbianised - not that it meets the Euro-whatever emissions regs, but the TFL computer assumes that an X-plate Transit is a Mk6, which were Euro'd from birth.

Billy, how flexible are you on the "no Ivecos"

Now THAT is some top Trolling! ☺

Erm...I think I'd probably rather get one of those indutrial garden vac cleaners, clean up a load of broken glass and dog shit, stick the pipe in my gob and switch it to 'blow'. But thanks anyhow.

I have found one locally, but it's up for sale within 48 hours of being bought with a spurious excuse and I've contacted the previous owner who's told me to avoid it like the plague. I reckon I'll make do with the Vauxhall now, the advice on this thread has been sterling.

I agree. Fuck the transit and buy an old Rover.
