Giffer spec kia

browsing through Gumtree yesterday for a car that's not hammered to death, galaxy miles manual box for next to nothing. Stumbled across this giffer spec kia. Mot till June, full Korean leather and working air con. Automatic box and a petrol engine so I've not got the diesel part but everything else is ticked. Problem is poor Doris or bill has bounced it off of every bollard or their garage and damaged the front wings, mirror and bumper. Back bumper scuffed but not major. Dog guard and load cover present and back seats don't look sat on. Oh and 23k from new. It really drives lovely

Looks all right does that, Daz - bonus peeled elephant, too.

To be honest Bub, that's probably a bloody good car for the money (I shan't be so presumptuous to ask you how much it cost, but I bet it was good value).

Two cans of Hyundai Silver and an afternoon's graft would see that bumper looking much more presentable!  I don't think I've ever seen one of these without dings, though.

Nice, leather seats look good too. Hope its a good one, i would hold off with towbar for a wee while just to make sure, but looks a good one.

I'm just pulling your leg, it does look an ideal tool for getting from a-to-b

I like them, proper modern shite. For what you paid for it (God forbid) it's difficult to go wrong. The bodywork doesn't really matter, it's only cosmetic plus you'd soon make it look loads better with a little effort if you're bothered about it.

The dinged bits are easily replaced via a small amount of ebay viewing.

Or lived with, also helps ensure that the space next to you in the car park is left empty.

Good plodder car that. Is it the seven seat model or the five. Top work that man. My daughter has a Kia sportage and just drives it, nothing else and she hasn't killed it in three years.

Unless you're doing tons of miles, fuel economy savings are wiped out with one expensive repair bill.  As long as that's reliable it should be as cheap to run as almost anything.

Right folks. Update time. Just been to Birmingham to pick sloth in a bowl up to get his puma. Kia performed effortless. Comedy fuel light and gauge though. Depends on incline, bends, weather and anything else. Felt comfy, handling squidgy but its no race car so that don't bother me. Fishing through paperwork earlier on I found a letter addressed to a former owner dated 2004 when car was new and all mot certificate to 2015 was in heanor same as his address. Hazarding a guess it was a 1 owner car till then from new. What's harm in door knocking? Jumped in car and went to the address to see the bungalow was basically a building site. Knocked on next doors house to see if he was about to be told he passed away last year. Until I get logbook back I won't find out who had it from his passing till me getting the car. Might go door knocking again

I don't think you can go wrong with that, Bub.  It's the kind of thing I would have bought before the Tacuma, had I found one.  Bonus for having the correct engine and box!  What is it, 2.0?

I have traveled in the Kia, it's quite nice.

The interior feels nearly new and with a bit of sensible work the exterior will brush up well.

Firm seats but soft suspension, the engine knocks into a high overdrive quite easily for coast, yet kicks down as soon as power is needed and the box seems good for an auto.

It's not quick but you could cruise at 70+ all day.

Daz was getting happier with the car as the evening went on, as it is beginning to loosen up from a decade of under use.

Overall for £300ish, this seems like a steal of the century.
