Managed to find backup for old board,quite old but newest i have.

Wish i had newer because i would revert to this for now.

& a lot of money but IPB4 is so clunky and is a resourse hog on server

Is there a potential solution for this using SQL scripting to SELECT the new posts, messages, users and media uploads out of the IPB4 database and INSERT them into the new (i.e. old) one?  We could live without all the likes and so forth.

 

I don't know how complex the database is or the risk to its integrity from a manual intervention like this - just a thought.

Unfortunately the database gets converted to utf8 format during upgrade & its no lnoger compatible with this one.

Autoshite.com is going on yet another new very fast server that i have installed memcache etc on already.

Will give new  system another try on that,if its still shit then i suspect we will be reverting to this version.

The only good thing about a slow internet connection, is that I have noticed absolutely no difference in speed between the old and new versions. I suspect they would both seem slow to someone who's used to a 5-10 Mbps connection, but to me it's just normal! I dream of the day I can watch YouTube videos without buffering...
