beko1987 Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Wow, glad nothing serious happened then... Ill try and attempt to think about coming next year Maybe...
brownnova Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Said accident was me reversing Junkman's 405 into brownnova's MX5 while trying to make space for a Calibra Turbo to manoeuvre. No harm done (I hope?!).Wasn't going to name names ghosty... Yeah MX is fine! No harm done. Junkman and Ghosty 2

Ghosty Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Hahaha, I don't mind - someone would only have brought it up anyway.
Dave_Q Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 405 vs MX5 was the biggest mention any AS car got all day. Cleon-Fonte, Ghosty, Junkman and 1 other 4
Dave_Q Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I had a ticket for this but after a long week in work I couldn't face the grim weather, seeing that pink mk5 escort winning 'best of 90's' again, and that bellend's constant banter over the tannoy. They desperately need a fresh face to host it, he irritates everyone. If you need a hand with anything Joe (tools etc), I'm not far (25 miles).Shock news! The escort didn't win. It did however, get a "special award", presumably for still turning up despite the car being gopping. sporty-shite 1
DodgyBastard Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 So... Sent from my SM-G930F using TapatalkIf its a knackered CV joint, I have a c15 one with me if its compatible. Sent from my 5022X using Tapatalk
sporty-shite Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Shock news! The escort didn't win. It did however, get a "special award", presumably for still turning up despite the car being gopping. He really excelled himself with that one. Fucking snivelling little turd.

Felly Magic Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Sounds like it's been 'eventful' for the Shiters, following DW's calamity on twatter & FB. Poor sod
cms206 Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Five breakdowns, one crash, one dislodgement. It's been different! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Cleon-Fonte Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Breakdowns do seem to have been the theme of the day. This SD1, for instance, made it to the event then promptly conked out (as all SD1s do): Eddyramrod's Cadillac then refused to start and had to be heroically pushed onto the stand. Here it is receiving fettling from Junkman: Then it was Dollywobbler's turn: Even Conrad D. Conelrad's P6 had a minor hissy fit, but then sprang into life, as evidenced here: Hopefully there will be no more victims by the end of the day. eddyramrod, oldcars, trigger and 9 others 12
chaseracer Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 The P6 non-starting issue was only because some* idiot* didn't pull the choke out far enough! Seemed to affect other 70s Leyland products too... Cleon-Fonte and Junkman 2
Cleon-Fonte Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 The P6 non-starting issue was only because some* idiot* didn't pull the choke out far enough! Seemed to affect other 70s Leyland products too... Ah, it seemed like there was a genuine FTP situation going on (hence the offer of a push) but now it makes sense. Verdict: BL choke levers are shit. Junkman and chaseracer 2
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 There may be something in my willingness to tolerate knackered choke cables as long as they still kinda work.
costadelglosta Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I was en route to Chumley and my clutch went bang 4 miles from the show. Best of all on a sharp bend on a hill on the A49. Mrs Costa was fuming and gave me the silent treatment all the way back in the recovery truck. Recovery man said he was used to it! Preliminary diagnosis is pull clutch forks slipped off release bearing or roll pin on clutch arm snapped.
Ghosty Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 That's a bummer, so close yet so far. costadelglosta 1
costadelglosta Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 The wrath of Mrs Costa is far worse than a major ftp. anonymous user and Cleon-Fonte 2
Cleon-Fonte Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 And now for some non-breakdown related shots of the cars ignored by the woefully shit commentator who sometimes bordered* on insane. A selection of the attendees from Celtic lands: Autoshite's two entrants into the convertible/sports car section, including the post-2001* Scirocco*: The G-reg* C15 wowing the judges of the commercials section: 205 vs. Visa vs. Picnic Tables: The shitest car entered by a non-shiter (with that infernal bloody Beetle in the background): And the car that should have won Car of the Show, but didn't because Mr. Microphone broke his own rules: Junkman, worldofceri, strangeangel and 5 others 8
Junkman Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Five breakdowns, one crash, one dislodgement. It's been the usual! EFA
Felly Magic Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 That beige Acclaim is a regular on the show circuits in the north, seen it at Blackpool, Wakefield and Heaton Park before now Ghosty 1

KruJoe Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Blimey. Hope everyone gets home ok. Aye, what a day! Castle_Cleland now achieved Mega-thanks to everyone for their support, but hero of the day is Ceri for being a top bloke and allowing me to use his name to match the AA card I had. worldofceri, anonymous user, captain_70s and 10 others 13

The Moog Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Love the hearing aid beige Capri and calibra is definitely looking hot
