Bought July last year with little history and a broken roof from a suburb of Leicester.
I replaced the cambelt, waterpump,  front springs (it had 206 lowering springs fitted), front shocks and replaced the burst roof hoses with some braided ones from HEL Performance.

The electric roof now works as it should but could be adjusted to sit a little more snugly to the decklid.

It's got a set of matching budget tyres in reasonable nick, a full black leather interior, 2 keys but sadly more than an average amount of parking dents, it spent a lot of it's earlier life in the carpark of Leicester hospital where these were gained.

Engine wise, it is the 2.0 16v and it goes very well indeed, there is a slight rattle from the exhaust and the clutch action is quite stiff.

I've been neglecting my Ax Vts since I bought this, and the kids aren't too keen at going anywhere with the roof open so it's a bit of a white elephant really.

Might P/ex, try me?

Happy to collect purchasers from either Lincoln or Boston railway station.

Just to re-iterate, it's not immaculate by any stretch of the imagination, but it's had a lot of graft put into sorting a lot of the standard cabrio faults.

These are great - great handling for a ragtop, really pleasant and practical. Much nostalgia here seeing one.

I was tempted but that'd mean getting rid of the CJ, and I can't see that happening anytime soon.

Nice car, hope it finds a good home.

I'd settle on a bad home at the moment, I've so much going on I could do without this one hanging around like un unwelcome bogey on a fingernail.

Dang.  I like these a lot, and this one looks very much like one I could happily live with.  But that isn't very helpful, is it?  Very sorry i can't wave money at you.

Nice colour.  A 306 cab is on my summer bucket list of 3 cars  so I'd love to own this (vis The Ballad Of Lucy Jordan) but nowhere have I any cash hidden.  Could do £200 and an MOT'd GPZ 500s ? Otherwise GLWTS and hope someone with the right attitude gets it.

That's a cool looking bike, but alas I don't ride!

Still for sale. Heat wave floppy top action anyone?

Posted

There's a couple on ebay for £1-2k, have you tried it on there?

Posted

I don't have room for this sadly - but if it's any help to anyone, I can thoroughly recommend ruffgeezer as a top banana bloke to buy a motor off.

Posted

I've got it up on gumtree at the moment, but no bites as yet.

Wilko; thanks!

Posted

Hmm so far I've had an offer of a 206 1.4hdi with 120k on the clock, with presumably money his way.

Anyone got anything else to offer?

Posted

Stoppit stoppit stoppit!  I want this and can't have it, damn you.  At least not yet.  The position may change...

Preferred shiter's payment/pex scheme possible ;-)

I don't want to buy it as I've already had one but it looks good value so good look with the sale.

Thanks, I feel a little left out as I've yet to be offered a trade for a citroen ax or a bassoon or anything else come to that. Perhaps I should put the price up.

Ok I could really do with this going now, ideally with a cheapish p/ex £2-300 worth perhaps? Clutch has gone on the truck and I  could do with a more sensible runner for daily duties.

If you need to borrow a car give me a shout mate, I can probably spare one for a bit ;)

Are these less floppy than a Saab 9-3 convertible?

Posted

You can feel the scuttle shake no doubt about it. It does handle nicely but not as well as it's tin top counter part.

Posted

Whoa there............... Don't be feeling left out, I have a lovely little blue AX. Did I mention this?

Hah! Thought you'd escaped!

A jelly is less floppy than a Saab 9-3 Convertible. They are fun to drive, mainly because you never quite know which direction it's going to point in next. Or whether it's the same direction the other end of the car is pointing.

Problem solved by just going fast with the roof down and ignoring it. I still liked mine, I know you weren't exactly keen!

Sorry to have missed you at the weekend, Ken. Although I think I might have possibly sat with you on the train, did you have a conversation with Will about running cars on veg?

Anyway, has the ax got any ticket? :)

Posted

You possibly did then if you heard the veg chat :) I was trying to fathom out how Will produces such luscious fluids. He explain it all very well indeed.

Name badges a  must for next time!

The AX can indeed have an MOT if required. It is a sweet little thing.

Please somebody buy this before I do something foolish...

Posted

Oh, just do something foolish like the rest of us. Why should you be the odd one out ;):)

You get it bought, I'll replace the front arm bushes before you collect.
