Yes, but you just smash the discs off an E30 with a big hammer and turn the remains of the screw out with Mole grips.

Does that not work on a Vectra?

Not when its yer only working car and you need it tomorrow:)

Its one for when I can be bothered and have a spare day

Had this up at Crail today..

Its about as exciting as watching the Great British Sewing Bee..

Best run of the day was a 17.5, about 82 mph terminal

Have a vid of the first run

I really hope those are two pictures of the same car, and you've been busy with the spanners.

Neve mind the modified Skoda, 17.5 is slower than £8CAR was!

AVAS;)

its quieter too!

Octavia was 18 dead when stock and 16.8 once tuned.

its the fastest stock car I've ever taken to Crail, and likely the most boring.

pug 205 driving has highlighted its failings

This has temporarily shifted to be the burd's daily, as her Clio 172 needs knocking into shape for an MOT.

so, out with the e30 316 auto for my commute.

first day in, on the way home:

which neccesitated the adoption of a #swampcooler exhaust..

and proves why you should only buy touring e30s:)

that said it sounded great!

This is still in daily service - having passed 7k miles in our ownership. All it has had are some pads and 2 tyres at the front. I have front discs to fit, but not had the time yet, and rear pads will need doing soon

Currently stands me at 18p a mile including servicing/parts and purchase (but excluding tax and insurance) once you factor in my expenses when I was using it for work, it drops to 13p per mile. pretty damn good. Should tip over 100k miles this week

It's still the burd's beater, and seems to take it in its stride. Seems to have a bit of a fondness for oil - but that seems to be an "they all do that, sir" problem with this 2.2 lump.

All in all, a bargain, reliable way to motor in relative comfort - so much so, it got its 2nd wash tonight, and even had wax applied!

Vauxhall success story?  This place is similar to how it used to be.

I think it's difficult to lose at £150 for the car:)

That looks like it would go round Knockhill really well...

You'd need to help me get the Clio back up and running furra burd! as couldn't afford to damage this when its responsible for getting her to the ole wage earner

See I'm pretty drunk right now so what I took from that was something about ragging a Clio round Knockhill. And something about your burd. So win win.

Heh, I'll keep the Clio, thanks:)

It appears that Neil has left the forum and someone else is using his username, making spurious posts about polishing cars.

Re the Clio: There appears to be an ongoing 'joke' between the commentators* at Knockhill about the number of Clios on track at any one time. Must mean they're good!

*insufferable gobshites.

Aye I think you'll not go far wrong with a Clio 172/82 as they're pretty capable wee cars. Hence I'm looking at MGs.

You are a sick puppy! and I say that as a Vectra owner..

Today this had a small excursion onto some grass, as it had nice wee spin whilst the burd was practicing her John Cleland impression.

Luckily no damage to burd/car or anyone or anything else.

Even got it jetwashed so wheels are cleanest they have ever been

Do we have appetite on here for a vectra roffle?

Mot until 19th Jan 2017. just about to turn 101k

I've done the front pads and fitted 2 front tyres. It comes with rear pads, front discs and spare headlamp.

Good bits- pulls well, 42mpg on a run,35 round the houses. Pretty damn good for a 2.2!

Very little rust(a bit on one rear arch and 1 rear door)

Interior in good order bar drivers door card top handle.

No bangs/clunks from suspension/brakes/drivetrains

Not so good.

Will need rear pads (supplied)

Uses oil- apparently a common issue with the 2.2 engine. I just check it when I put a tank of fuel in.

Its boring to drive.

There you have it chaps.

I'd like £4 a ticket please!
