Trouble-Shooter didn't really get Morgan

I think he did actually.

Must admit I haven't seen it for a while, but I thought he gave them months, if they didn't change their ways.  They are still here so maybe he did put them right.  Wasn't meant as a criticism.

Forgot to mention that i did get to sit in charles Morgans own original 3 wheeler, and met Charlie himself,a nice man but you could tell he could give a good bollocking! i do remember telling him c.2004 that he should relaunch the three wheeler, given the huge prices originals fetch and the fact people have been building replicas for 30 years.... lol

Did anyone actually buy one?

I can reveal that this factory visit has resulted in an order for a 4/4 (not by me I hasten to add). But the gentleman concerned is a lurker on here.

Looks like we're going back in November to watch his car being built!

I built a looka like  ,when i was .....well,when i had dark hair... It was a Burlington ss  kit ,Triumph vittesse chassis +TR6 engine ,and i bought real Mog bumpers and badges at Malvern . On the road, real Mog drivers used to wave to me but i didn't wave back because mine was a fake !! Being a bit light , it went like stink . Good number plate too

Then ten years later is was Troublemaker Returns.

Re-visiting Morgan was better than the trip back to Triang.

You look at those shots of the ash frame or the perfectly beaten panels and you can start to realise the appeal of them. They are genuinely a thing of quality. I know you could apply that to a Ferrari as they look well crafted with the gloriously polished cam covers, you just know underneath the skin, like most Italian cars its held together with rusty nails and Isopon.

I am the said 'lurker' who organised the tour and in a moment of madness has committed to a new 4/4! It will be the third Morgan I've owned but the first one built later than the seventies! No doubt Holbeck or myself (or both) will keep you updated!

Shame you ordered the wrong colour though.... ;)

I would love a blast in one of these.

As would I. Jay Leno ordered one after a half hour test drive.

I think this will need its own thread.

I think there'll need to be a thread about how I'm going to find the money to pay for it! Currently £16k short...

You could put up a pic of your part exchange though.

And to update this, I've had a pigeon arrive in Devon with a tube attached to its belly containing the news that my Morgan started production today. Officially it takes 17 working days from start to finish so I'm planning to visit more than once. By a twist of fate I would have missed the experience if I hadn't had to spend three of the last four weeks in hospital culminating in an operation. This has meant I'm off work and therefore should be free to make the pilgrimage to Malvern. Ok, I've just had to cancel a holiday in the Caribbean but I'm sure I can sell a night in the premier inn in Malvern to the other half as a worthy consolation prize!

Love the craftsmanship in these but I could never live with the lack of refinement. In a recent episode of Wheeler Dealers on the Quest channel Ed replaced the (steel) chassis on one where the original chassis had rusted away.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Wetherspoons in Malvern which also does rooms! Anyhow, it seems somebody got their facts a little wrong as a nice chap from the Morgan forum went looking for my car on Thursday when he was at the factory. He couldn't find it and when they went to check it seems it isn't due to start until Dec 12th, so it won't be  Christmas present to myself! Hopefully I can get to see it in build in teh week leading up to factory shutdown on the 22nd though.

The wetherspoons in Malvern used to be owned by my mate. I had my wedding reception there.

I'd love a go in one, especially a three wheeler. You can rent them from the factory, which I might do for a couple of days in the springtime.

I admit, I laughed at the sheer neck of Morgan for riveting their nameplate over the rocker cover that clearly says BMW :D

Just go to a dealer, tell them you're thinking of buying and you'd like to go on a tour and that you'd like to drive a three wheeler when you're there. The factory will have one ready for you and throw you the keys and off you go! Obviously if you do want one for a couple of days you'll have to pay but if it's just for a blast up the Malverns then they're very accommodating!

No, K-series engined Morgan.

You should be able to find the episode online.

Pretty sure they've never used a K series. Think that was a plus 4 with a 2 litre T series, distantly related to that well known racing engine the 'O' series.
