I don’t think it has devalued...

Sorry Chris, my comment was meant as a good thing i.e. someone will get a bargain (and did by the look of it!).

Nothing to apologize for as far as I can see.

I do need to learn how to sell cars as well as buy them! Oh yes I did spend quite a few years as a car salesman perhaps that’s why I did not stick to it, I could not bear to part with the stock!

Are those suspension cylinder boots?

Great to see this car still in the forum.

I did not know what they were this morning so I has just Googled them Delphi TBR3081 comes up as steering.

I've a set of 14" berlingo steelies and a set of 175/65 14 Tyres to fit to them for cheaps, if they are any use to the new custodian?

It's funny seeing the spares stack that still follows this car around the country. It arrived with my white estate then decamped from my loft to DW when this one left. Most of the bits have changed but it still means that only one passenger can be carried whenever it changes hands.

Best of luck to the new custodian, you have got a proper bargain at £300 even with those wheels.

When I picked it up from Wilson x 2, I had the missus and the little one with me (had gone up in the Sierra). Tactical movement of everything was required to get one of the rear seats up so I could carry 3. Of the joys of being a marke trader in a past life!

I emptied the spares out so I could use the car but the only space I had left was my second front room!

Time for a sort out I think!

Anyone one who wouldn't buy a car at under £400 because of the wheels needs a reality check! Poor old Six-Cylinder must have been biting his lip!

Andrew, context is all here - it was FPB7 who fitted the Speedline alloys with decent rubber that have been taken off!

Posted

And the gti was fitted with 5 1/2j speedlines, not the 6j ones fitted to the 16v and my old BX. The 16v had wider rear arches because of the wider wheels.

The workshop manuals that came with the car came to me gratis so were passed on similarly.

Just sayin'.

Do we know who's bought this yet?

It's not me, I owned it between RobT and CITW.

The Scottish contingent seem fairly quiet. (Okay they're having nosh tonight but, well)

It's coming to live in Yorkshire! :D

But not Castle_Cleland :(

In just a few hours time, the peace and tranquility of a spring West Yorkshire morning will be rent asunder by the joyous sound of a diesel Kia Sedona. And when that happens, I shall be ready.

Finally, the new custodian steps into the warm sodium glow of the still red street lamp so we can identify them if we squint a bit and clean our spectacles on our collective hand knitted cardigans.

I've got to pop into work for an hour, so we're leaving about 11 :-D

I am breakfasted, showered and shaved, got a feeling I'm missing something but I'm sure I'll work it out sooner rather than later :?

Soda pop has been bought, along with mini indian snacks from T'Asda, a nearly full tank of diesel, going to select some toonz from my collection, then the adventure commences in earnest.

I'm setting off to SA's pad in the wilds of Denby Dale from North Leeds in the next twenty minutes, get in, we're off to get another shite french motor, cannot wait 8)
