The shite situation in Rome is decent, but the areas vary wildly. Anything east of the centre is crammed, basically. and the North isn't too bad, but you can find yourself in areas of all brand new cars quite easily.

How do you date 'em? Can you tell the age from Italian plates or do they have some sort of tax-disc style thing with a reg date on? Or is it an educated guesstimate?

I recall seeing that circa 1968 Mazda with one set of headlights missing, that was in Eltham. I took my mum to the dentists just a few doors along and wandered back to have a look. Think someone did buy it and hopefully it'll return to the road.
