I reckon turbo seals.  My Mrs has one of these and loves it, though the turbo did blow in spectacular fashion after going from no smoke, a bit of smoke, to ALL THE SMOKE in less than 15 minutes.  I understand the 'little' turbo (150BHP, no boost guage) is the least reliable.

not really, a simple remap gives me a reliable 220bhp. I think only top aero/viggen has a bigger turbo

Ive got an aero turbo here with a brand new uk made core and the coolant/ oil pipes that I am looking to sell !

Can you change an eco warrior into an eco worrier, I would be tempted to buy that as insurance for my Saab if its cheap enough.

PM me with details if The Captain doesn't want first dibs.

Could I potentially enquire about a price too, assuming it is compatible with a YS3F with the B207E engine?

I have a Saab, which has started smoking occasionally too. It's only fourteen. Does this lead to bigger problems in the future, like a habit for cocaine or will counselling help if I catch it early?

Does anyone know where I can get the proper pre-2001 font number plates for my Range Rover? Like these:

Mine's got awful post-2001 narrow font plates on, which make me feel a little bit sick every time I look at them.

DMB Graphics for your numberplates, several shiters have bought from them and been well happy with the results

Does anyone fancy this before I stick it on eBay?

2001 Saab 9-3 SE Turbo Convertible.

93,000 miles. Shortish MOT till 06/05/2017.

£350

Located in mid Cornwall PL24.

I bought this at the start of last summer and smoked around in it and then stashed it away over the winter. On the first vaguely sunny day we had about two weeks ago I dug it out, got it back on the road.. and decided I prefer my P38.

Good points first:

  • It's a real sharp looker in blue, and it goes like fuggin shit off a shovel!
  • Leather interior is in good nick barring a tiny fag burn in passenger doorcard - see pic.
  • Sump drop was done a year ago by the previous owner and the oil and filter was changed 300 miles ago with proper GM-spec stuff.
  • The roof is in full working order, in a lovely shade of blue to match the car, goes up and down with no problems, and is fully waterproof.

It has niggles:

  • It has been known to puff out blue smoke occasionally - however since the oil change this seems to have diminished.
  • EML light comes and goes - stuck it on the diagnostics and it came up with a code for a misfire, but doesn't affect running in any way.
  • Runs hot - fan is eager to cut in. Temp gauge never budges though. Used a small amount of water on a 300-mile round trip the other day.
  • Crack in top of driver's windscreen (passed MOT last year).
  • Front tyres are wearing on the inside edge so will need a pair for MOT.

I have been driving it daily and it's been fine. Someone with a little time and more knowhow than me would have it running sweet - I have simply lost interest due to being sucked into a downward spiral of increasingly ropier P38 Range Rovers, which means I am in my element.

The turbo grille fitted will be replaced with a standard 9-3 one before sale.

That looks lovely.  Makes my 900 look horribly expensive!

That looks identical to Mrs Pirate's motor!  I think you've undervalued that by some margin.

Yowza!  I paid 550 for Mrs BV's one of these a few weeks ago, and that was a mucho good deal.  This one looks a megabarg for 350, and it even has an ALL TEH BOOST gauge.

PM incoming...

Sorry, ignore that, I've just regained consciousness after the insurance quote. WOW!

Shame, sexy looking motor!

Was the quote from Pip Schofield?

These go on a classic policy if that helps anyone!!!

Really?

I've never got anything 16 years old on a classic policy other than a Raver 75 because there's an ownership club that's actively involved with one of the insurers.

Not even the Pug floppy top? Isn't that under 20?

If you mean the one on here, I tried for my wife and they wouldn't have it. Shame as would have been spot on for her.

My Pug won't go on classic, as won't this Saab.

300 sovs a year is a bridge to terabithia too far, normally I pay around £150 for almost anything!

Yup these will go on with Footman James up and to 2002. £200 for me with 3000 miles and drive to work!!!

What's going on?  I seriously thought this would fly away well ahead of mine!  C'mon guys, summer's nearly here!

I've just got in from work to find the wife's offered 325 for it "on my behalf". Wish she'd insisted on it sooner, I'd have preferred to save Cap'n the listing fees!

If he accepts the £325 it'll replace the 306.

(actually gave him full asking price as I thought the wife was being a tightwad... She's not even from Yorkshire!)

Picked the green one up this morning, it needs an MOT and is showing an ABS fault.

Dear MOT testers, can this be temporarily solved with some black tape? Or does the light have to go on and go off to be satisfactory?

I think it does have to come on and go off within a certain time. You could do what one of the previous owners of a Discovery I owned had done. He took the speedo cluster out and cut the wire to the abs light and joined it to the oil warning light. I found this out whilst trying to fix the lack of oil warning light. I thought my assistant was pulling my leg when they said the abs light came on when I grounded the oil pressure switch. It still passed a few mot's like that though.
