I have asked for pictures which I should get wednesday.

Any idea if I can find out spec/ body style from reg?

Cartell says it's an 820Si. Don't know about saloon/fastback.

Cheers for looking that up. Saloon is the worst option for me.

Have asked them to see if they can work out where the leak is from and get photos.

Worst comes to worst I can wander over and have a look to make a decision.

Corsa looks tip top sir! I have a fair few bits lying around for these, mainly bumpers, lights, mirrors and other plastic parts if you require them. All from an equally basic model!

I have blocked the corsa in as it must be the easiest thing in the world to nick.

theshadow says it is pretty mint underneath.

Looking at the engine bay it is covered in yellowy stuff so looks like it has been rust proofed before.

Where are you Iain? If it is going spare then that would be ace.  I am up in Crieff /Kinross w/c 24th

I'm in Bonnybridge near Cumbernauld but will be on holiday then. However I come back the Weds and I believe that's the date of the monthly Scotoshite Scranningtons So I could bring it then?

I'm away down south again in the Thursday.

Will if you are around for Wednesday 26th and fancy the mentioned foodage then I would be passing Kinross on the way. However I would be nowhere near Crieff ;)

Is this the mythical place of eggs on everything? Where is it held?

In other news Rover is off the table.  My friend went to look at it and said oil was literally pissing out of the corner between head and block. Rad is leaking badly and some hoses are screwed. His 78 year old dad doesnt really want to give it away now because of that. Rover and out for now ...

Wheels were awful. Four are being shod with spare Toyo tyres tomorrow so didn't bother masking them. This was the spare so masked it up.

Rear drums were skanky. Only had go faster red in stock

f0207443183d6bfdf4036b8568d59792.jpgfaf205a075a6f8cadddf38cb33e9b913.jpg

Not 100% about the red but will do for now.

Also found some rust under rear wiper

f1ee10bc8f1dd3137010058b6d909522.jpg

Been taken back and Krusted. Then high build primer applier. I think it could do with a small smear of filler so will get onto that tomorrow.

Left to do

Fill and sand

Spray the touch up spots

Need to find a way to get the black off that someone has put on the bodywork above bumpers

Mop and polish car

Clean inside of car - it has got white dog fur all over

New MOT

My new favourite tool is this

Made spraying things so easy and so much more controllable

That yellow stuff in the engine bay will be the original wax they were sprayed with. You used to see it quite a bit on the engine, just below the rocker cover, as well as on inner wings and whatnot.

Brilliant work there. The white room here you come!

What are you using to rub down before the Kurust, a sander?

Theshadow knows his work.

Got a link for that? I can't find one at that price. I really need to get those wheels you picked up for me done :/

Spray can handle is from Halfords. Makes spraying so easy and keeps hands sprayless

Wax is left definitely on.

After krust I wire wheel it following the instructions. It takes off the converted rust. Then you do it again.

Presume you don't need the rear bumper anymore, that looks a good job.

Looks in way better nick than mine, keep up the good work.

Not any more - it has come up a treat.

did drop you a Pm to say thanks but wouldn't be needing it.

New toyo tyres fitted - £15 for all four fitted and balanced.

Photos do flatter it a bit.

I think the rear bumper could do with another couple of coats of paint as still marks on it.

I just need to wait for a dry day to finish the bodywork.

I took up FOADS kind offer to help anyone learn welding today.

He was modifying the burner to change the handle.

By using the top he is creating two handles. Foad tacked them on then tried to get me to channel my inner welder.

I am pretty rubbish but it has given me a bit more confidence to have a go. Mr & Mrs Foad were more than patient.

I also got a look at Hyncinth, which is a sorry sight to see.
