I am due to collect one. It is a one owner, imported when new by local well to do chap who lives in a big castle. Ifs dark blue, its done about 100k amd its frilly around the edges. Its a 2001 y plate and is from memory an lpg. It has just run out of mot and apparently needs a battery or perhaps an alternator. It has been replaced with a brand new dAudi Q7. Nice.... Anyhow, i have no need, and even less abitlity to do anything with it, but have wwnted to "have one" so will attempt to get it started and drive it, and then intend to pass it on. Ebay /scumtree will be a last resort. Any takers or any idea of who or where to try with it? Car located in north east scotland. I will update this thread as and when i have attempted to drag it home amd will also add pics.

Have you any interior shots, Mrs Cyl always wanted one but she would want a beige leather interior.

There's a guy on here, that likes yanks. Eddy something or others his username!

I like these. Shame on the previous owner too. Fucking Audi Q7 indeed!

Wouldn't expect parts to be a problem over here either.

Ah oops price...to be honnest its not my bag. I have no idea what its worth, but i imagine someone somwhere will be tempted with a price of £750? It does have beige leather...

Before you part with any folding check for rot - they have little protection and in the NE US these are rotted out in eight years or so.

Pack your screwdriver.

If its something that after getting it going i reckon is drivable to a pre booked mot i shall let you all know, i might then be tempted with a swap of some kind...quirky shitroen....honda aerodeck. That sort of thing.. :)

Whilst waiting for update, have a look at this beauty i spotted on my way to drop kids at school.....post-4577-0-06846300-1454431939_thumb.jpeg

Hmm, if only I knew of someone with a spare Aerodeck .... ;)

Saying that, Mr_cyl has a Citroen or three.

Y249YRS. Is the number should you wwnt to do any checks... I recall when i checked the last mot must have beeen entered in km rather than miles..as it hasnt done 60 thousand in the last year or so, :)

Posted

No..... Just no.... I have no spare money or room for anything else!

How much was it again??

If you get it sorted, I reckon Purplebargeken will offer Eddyramrod an all in straightener in the car park.

Ok..so it started with the jump pack and drove me home no dramas....no warning lights. No stuck on brakes... No front heater fan.. Rear one worked so that was ok....headlights were squinter than my eyes... It doesnt appear to have lpg. 4x4 all worked good on a test through a muddy field on the way home... It says its due a service soon. Other than a pre burst bolster on the drivers seat interior is nice and fresh. Its dark so bodily i cant really report other than frilly. I wont be crasling hnderneath it so if you want to buy it you will need some balls, it could need welding, who knows. Come amd see it, or take a gamble.. :). First 750 takes her away.

I have zero storage space. Literally, I can fit my one car on the street in front of my house. I still want this though, even moreso with it being local!

Posted

Ohhhhhhhhh buggeration...................

No money, no space, no facilities..................

AAAAAAAAAARGH!

Ken: put 'em up!

Mrs Cyl is getting excited do you now which trim level it is, does it have air con?

Posted

WANT!

Uncle_Sterling from Kuwait had one of these back in the late 90s, we travelled from Syria to Lebanon and back again his way back then. Big, comfy thing.

Thing is, parking around here isn't easy, plus no money, or even to run one PLUS the arrival of an E46 has put paid to any idea of me parting with £750 which I don't have anyway.

It looks like there's a fault code for the engine stored, so caveat emptor and bring your code reader/scan...

Oooh! It's got leather seats! AND 4x4.

...GLWTS, though.

Yup. My money's on the vapour canister and a misfire, usually on number 7.

That looks lovely inside. If one of you lot doesn't buy it and get a thread up on here about it, soon, then this place etc.

One of our drivers at work had one of these, used it for towing his massive caravan, which it did effortlessly. He swore by it and had years.

He's got a Chevy Tahoe now, which is also very nice!

The light in the pics is the abs light which stayed on after booster pack start..it now goes off and the battery is holding a charge...for now.....

mot history doesn't look too bad. It must have had a bit of welding last year but there's not a ton of advisories for a squishy under carriage or anything.
