If it’s as straight as what it looks like then £2,200 is nothing for that. A cheap one off Facebook isn’t worth doing anything with when they’re that price for something straight and original. 
 

There’s one for sale in Essex a 2.0 Ghia estate, £1,995, they’ve had it a while, I’m sure £1,700 would take it. Looked immaculate as well.

Cor, look at those seats! You could stroke that velouriness all day long. 

This must be peak Mondeo. The Ghia probably had leather seats (at least as an option) but if anybody thinks any leather can be better than this they are just kidding themselves. 

Also has Swirly Trimz. That may not be the official name but you know what I mean. These were really stand out at the time. Alloy wheels might be more expensive but these really capture that period of time.

They’re great luggers seats down. My old boy used to pack his six piece Remo drumkit, cymbals and stands in the back with room for a young bornite in the passenger seat. That was quite a car when it was new, an air-conditioned 2.0 GLX in Java Blue, although I believe the 2.0 was (ever so slightly) slated because the gearing was lower than the 1.6 and 1.8, making it quicker but slightly less refined. What were the 2.0 Automatic versions like?

Booked mine in with a garage to have the lower front suspension arms done next week, not used them before, so we'll see how we go.

Last done 9 years ago when I bought it, and the car could barely drive straight back then, crabbed all over the shot.

And yes, before someone asks, the gearbox end has had the bolt the 'wrong way up' to avoid dropping subframe all that time...

The fabric is Papillon and the interior colour is Atlantis.

Leather was optional on Ghia only and only with heated seats.

I had leather in one, I think all things considered I preferred the velour. The leather felt cheap and nasty I thought.

April 1993 Mondeo seen in a small seaside town near Bari last week, looking very well for 227,000km.

New lower arms fitted today, 2 hours labour charged, which is fair.  Graunching much reduced, though they informed me I have slight play in either a strut mount or the shock at the front (edit: nearside)

Apparently he still has it, tucked away in storage somewhere and it would be available.
