Had a rummage about today looking for a pair of front seats I can fit to the Panda.

Nowt much took my fancy. I found a nice pair in a 206 but one was missing a headrest and I couldnt find a match.....another nice pair in a mkIV Astra 3 door, SXi or something with very litte wear but faded to pink by the sun. Couple of Corsa Sports which were ok....dunno. For the price he charges I might just be as well to stump up some extra and get a set of low back buckets.

Anyway, I took some snaps. Photography isnt great as the sun was too low and it had to be covert as they dont like me taking pics. I had to miss out various sections....rows and rows of clios, ZXs 306 and 205s etc as the guys were working in those areas.

I will let you come up with your own captions, I cant be assed.

Could you keep your eye out for a black leather passenger seat for a Calibra to replace my UK driver's seat?

They tend to wear on the side bolster... a European passenger seat would be an ace replacement.

Ta :-)

The leather interior option seems fairly rare in Germany too, which is strange. Most UK models seemed to have it.

What a fantastic scrappie!

I don't recall he last time I saw anything like that in the Uk!

I'm really jealous.

what a real scrap yard,

well,

i say scrap yard,

it is really a scrap field,

cos it looks like someone has jut driven a shed load of cars into a field.....

Wow.

I'd love to have the seats out of that Senator A, just to sit on.

I see the French continue to ignore all the EU law which spouts forth from Brussels. Got to be admired.

I'm sure there's a business opportunity involving shipping rhs seats from lhd countries to Britain - the cost of sending a seat to be rebuilt is massive.

If folk really want little stuff I am happy to do it, but posting interiors and stuff is likely to cost a bloody fortune.

I've given this a lot of thought over recent years - it seems such a no-brainer for autoshiters in the UK and mainland Europe to swap passenger seats so that everyone gets a (relatively) unused driver's seat. There are potential problems, though.

I'll bung up a thread to see if there's any interest.

I assume that the pond in some of the pics is basically full of all the fluids from all the cars in the field and is PURE POISON and possibly highly flammable too?

GR9 work, wish there were places like this still round here.

Out of interest were there any common themes as to why the cars were there? I assume that far south, even in winter, roads aren't salted so corrosion is much less of an issue than it is over here? Doesn't look like loads of accident damage either?

How many Pandas! I'm in envy, I phoned 10 local scrap yards and not one had a panda, not one!

If we swap passenger seats won't one recipient end up with a pair of worn out seats?

I got laughed at last time I phoned up some scrappies for 214 parts... 'Nah mate not seen one of those for years...'
