Rocket88
A brief summary….. the V6 ( even with a slight exhaust blow) suits this car. It does feel like the chassis could handle a lot more horsepower, but that’s not really the point. These are about ride comfort, primarily, but the handling is bordering on the bizarre. It will go into fast sweeping corners that would cause a spot of buttock clenching in other large saloons, and it will “just go round them” with no drama. brownnova, tooSavvy, RichardK and 7 others 8

Rocket88
A few issues to sort out…. Exhaust blow, and abs/airbag lights on. Paint on roof and bonnet has gone flat
wesacosa
apparently the ABS light should blink when you turn the key on to indicate a fault before staying on. If it comes on without blinking it indicates an issue powering up the abs module. Usual suspect is the green abs relay which kind of hangs in space in front of the battery tray and is susceptible to corrosion on the pins. Apparently the relays are the cause of most electrical silliness in these…. For what they cost, I may replace any that look a bit iffy

For what they cost, I may replace any that look a bit iffy The abs ones are tricky to get hold of as they are 4 pin plus one small pin. Although they are switchable for a more readily available BMW one, although that's assuming you have the Teves ABS system on that year model. If not ignore my comments! Schaefft
I've had a look in that area when I installed the grille and noticed that some electrical gizmo already received some kind of splash protection. Since the abs light does come on only occasionally it will most likely be a contact issue, and therefore a free fix. I just haven't had the time to investigate as it's usually off. And yes, the combination of ride comfort and cornering ability is very unusual, you can feel how the suspension suppresses body roll, the magic of hydraulic suspension I guess. The book pack goes in the fuse box lid under the glove box btw. Rocket88 and wesacosa
Rocket88
Been having a good poke round today….. 4 good tyres, but 4 different brands, one a Michelin, the other 3 of dubious parentage. It’s getting a set of Falkens tomorrow. Tomorrow , going in to vinyl wrap bloke to see what we can do with the bonnet and roof Going in on Thursday for exhaust blow investigation. Frustratingly, glovebox is locked, and the key seems disinterested in unlocking it
Schaefft
The glovebox does open, pull the lever and help it up a bit. Any idea what colour you wanna go for?

Rocket88
Exhaust is pretty much borked from the cats back. It consists of a weird looking twin box middle bit, which is unobtainium. Back box is pretty freely available. Got a reasonable quote to hack off everything behind the cats and get something custom made, so will be doing that Rust Collector, cbowditch and Stinkwheel
