17-Coffees Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 A keg of beer? Now that's an idea, and the local Macro stock some good brands that's bloody tempting! Adding that weight would do great for the fuel though...Taking a in-car cool box, so will be stocking up on can's of Bombardier when I cross the border (Hard to get in Aberdeen) and will hopefully be rather chilled by the time I reach camp! I'm sure some of you's may have seen, I've started a thread for a Northern Convoy down if anyone is interested.
bub2006 Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Why if i click on that northern convoy link does it show me a leopardzilla air freshener?!
Six-cylinder Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 Why if i click on that northern convoy link does it show me a leopardzilla air freshener?! Me too.
17-Coffees Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Because it was 3:30 in the morning and I was very tired, and was looking at air freshers for my Abarth. Sorry! Sorted it now though!
strangeangel Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 ...stocking up on can's of Bombardier Bottles, please! Proper beer has no business being in tin cans Try Asda Smart Price Bitter... For getting stains off me paintwork?
17-Coffees Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Bottles, please! Proper beer has no business being in tin cans True that, admitting was only wanting can's of it as seen it for sale when stopped at shop's in England and pipped my interest. Looks like a trip to Macro to stock up on bottles is in order! (Also means will spend even longer getting chilled!) strangeangel 1
KruJoe Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Aldi have a great supply of bottled ales at £1.25 a pint.I recommend Thwaite's Wainwright, Jenning's Cocker Hoop, and Wadworth 6X. strangeangel and HMC 2

KruJoe Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 If I turn up in Buckingham late morning on the Saturday, is anyone actually going to be there - or are you all going to be on the railway visit? Hmm... I'm not a mad fan of the choo-choos, I was also wondering if anyone else felt the same. I'd be more than happy to be standing in a field making poor jokes about the array of shite with a few similarly socially awkward blokes from the internet. If anyone else feels the same, shout up; I'd be pleased to supply tepid tea in plastic beakers. skattrd, Tamworthbay, barefoot and 2 others 5
bub2006 Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Regards tepid tea, i need a metal kettle to brew up as my kettle is hookup only!
skattrd Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 I'm not massive train fan and was unsure about the afternoon, but can loiter in the field, wander off to local pub or whatever. KruJoe and Bucketeer 2
17-Coffees Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 I thought it was subliminal messages! I'm going to have to make sure I have one in the car now for the weekend... bub2006 1

If anyone else feels the same, shout up; I'd be pleased to supply tepid tea in plastic beakers. I'm not hugely fussed either way, but put my name down for the train bit thinking that was SF. So I'll probably just play it by ear on the day.
KruJoe Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Aye, that's cool.I don't want to spark off a mutiny!I'd happily go along to see some trains rather than be Billy-no-mates in a field, and I'd have a good day. But if there's a few others who'd be just as happy supping a brew and chatting shite on a field, then I'm there. If there are a few stragglers rolling up on the Saturday daytime, then that's cool too. mat_the_cat 1
Bucketeer Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I'm definitely not going to play trains - my less than executive bank balance precludes such extravagances.I was planning to sit and relax in the field talking to animals and watching clouds during that day but if other people are going to be there then I can change my plans to include human interaction and wearing pants. mat_the_cat, bub2006, Richard and 3 others 6
JohnK Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Agreed on the train lark - I would rather talk shit cars/fix shit cars (Chris are you still providing something for us to mess with?) and drink beer...
rantingYoof Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 My plan was to turn up at some point on Saturday, wander into the field and stand there looking frightened and awkward with a "HALP ME" facial expression until I recognised someone - probably Supernaut and 17-Coffee as it should be easy to spot/hear a claggy XUD and an AMG-impersonating LS400. Such is my socialising expertise. chaseracer and egg 2
beko1987 Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I'm probably going to go straight to the train, then back to the field and leave lateish on sunday If my dad wasn't coming to the train I probably wouldn't, but meh, its planned now!
The Moog Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I am planning to bring some homebrew so free beerages may be available. Bottling up a strawberry beer this afternoon. Might also be able to squeeze a wheat beer in as well. KruJoe and strangeangel 2

Bring your biggest tool kit there are plenty of seldom started things to play with, I will buy a create of easy start! strangeangel, skattrd, HMC and 1 other 4

beko1987 Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I like the sound of this... I'll buy ale though, so don't worry any fellow cider h8rs! (I'd love to try some homebrew cider though, just incase I like it...) If Amy can get off work on Friday I might be tempted to come and camp, then peel off a bit earlier to get Eva/meet dad before the train then see the trainers at chinnor... Damn, so much to plan, so little arse to do it! Need to make some money too, at this rate I won't even be able to buy any cabbage juice! Is it too early for this yet? johngarty, strangeangel, Semi-C and 1 other 4
dollywobbler Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I'm very excited. Not a bad thing to have the activities split into two groups - like the two separate convoys we had last year. Then we can exchange stories in the evening. Or maybe the few of us sober ones will just be shaking our heads at everyone else falling over Mat_the_cat-style after too much cider... beko1987 1
beko1987 Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 That was brilliant fun to watch, its probably a good job there won't be a fire this year...
Tamworthbay Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Any plans food wise? Bbq? Curry? Fish and chips? Roasted local?
egg Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Great. I'll aim to get to Buckingham late morning Sat. I'm going to stay for the day and get a B&B/motorway hotel on the Sat night somewhere on the way back to Kent. I'll be another one staring at my shoes....
KruJoe Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Why not stay somewhere local and come back for a few hours in the morning? In previous years most of us have had a lazy morning and set off back about lunchtime. In other news - Aldi beer...I forgot this one at £1.25 a pint. Plenty of bang-per-buck; it's 5.7% egg and johngarty 2
johngarty Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Ive never been to a Shitefest but I have this mental picture of one... catsinthewelder, chaseracer, Six-cylinder and 2 others 5
