South bound & down? - Northern Convoy to Shitefest.

With Shitefest just over a month away, and being around 500 miles away, I though I'd see if anyone would be up for going convoy on the drive down? 

 

No plans on routes, time, etc as can try work around everyone. But would be leaving Aberdeen sometime on Thursday 23rd. 

I'll have a basic CB radio set up in the car as well, because a convoy's not a real convoy without one. (But also have basic 2 way walkie talkies) 

 

So list so far:

 

17Coffees - Aberdeen , Lexus LS400

Supernaut - Aberdeen, TBA

I can meet somewhere i suppose and i can have a rig sorted in car too. I will be towing a van though so 50mph terminal velocity .

I'm thinking how many fuel stops I'll need for the LexBarge, could likely manage it in one haul, kissing the red with the gauge & keeping the fingers crossed. So the big Jerry can will be packed!

 

For meeting places, I'm going to suggest Motorway Services if possible? Or if a big supermarket is not far from the main road, there as cheaper for food & fuel!

I honestly dont know best route asnot been before. I understand some midlands massive was interested in a convoy but i did state to dave and andy i wont be exceeding 50mph but dave is taking the dyane i believe so them speeds are fine! Dont know how anyone else feels though?

I also would like to avoid motorways and bypass but will do it if necessary

Hmm, well both the LexBarge and the Xantia Shed are capable of cruising comfortably at significantly more than 50mph...

The reason i can do 50 max is the caravan on tow. My xantia can go a lot more but not wise with a van!

Risk of the local Police going after you for having a convoy? That add's more fun to it all!

 

We just need to have a car filled to the brim with beer and use the LS as a blocker car? (Which would have a Firebird decal on the bonnet for some reason?)  Sure we can find a runaway bride somewhere along the way?
