My Gamma in its natural pose

Post Christmas battery charge and spin ended in small fire and small talk with the AA man. Natch.

Anyone know a good mobile auto electrician in South London?

I thought the plate looked familiar.

It decorated a garage in rural Morayshire for a year or two a while ago.

Hope you get it going again with minimal hassle.

Can't help with an auto electrician I'm afraid, but I'm in awe of the Gamma coupe.  Think of the fire as part of the ownership experience, like being called a tosser when you have a BMW or people telling you about Princess Anne when you have a Reliant Scimitar.

It's awful when internal combustion isn't quite internal enough.

Glorious car, though.

I have to say you are living the dream!

It may be hassle but having such a great looking, unusual car is worth it.

I do have an Auto electrician who fixed my Alfa 156 but I guess North Bucks is no good to you.

More pictures of the good times please.

Calendar shot material right there!

What else is in the fleet to use whilst the Gamma gets sorted?

Dave Patrick in Sittingbourne Kent is a helpful auto electrician, 01795 470 704. May know a mobile one nearer to you.

Hi. A Lancia Beta Spyder, a 1982 Range Rover, a Mini Sprite and for sensible, daily motoring an E55AMG estate. Pics below, with the Spyder alongside my old Fulvia S3 which is long garnered unto God

I had a Gamma coupe.  It was rather rustier than yours.  On the plus side, it never caught fire.

You mean the rust didn't, surely?

It is a 1982 model with the Chrysler Torqueflite auto and option pack 'C'. I bought it in 2012 and have replaced the sills, taken the body off the chassis to shot-blast and rust-proof it, re-built the suspension and reconditioned the bodywork.

Second year of 4door production. I love it for its originality

That Range Rover is absolutely gorgeous. Silver suits those crisp sharp lines and it looks fantastic on those wheels. I lust after it because it looks perfection.

Me too. Mine was far too damp to burn. Even the engine oil had water in it.

what was the problem in the end?

Someone had bodged the electric power steering pump into the ignition circuit, which overloaded and burnt out the switch.

Now got a new switch courtesy of the Gamma Consortium and wired the pump in properly. Only problem is that the electrician broke the sodding wiper stalk!!

Nobody has mentioned MARTYN BUCLY yet.

I think that my car is unique in being the only surviving Gamma that Martin has never owned.
