Claphamrangie Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Post Christmas battery charge and spin ended in small fire and small talk with the AA man. Natch. Anyone know a good mobile auto electrician in South London? mercrocker, Lacquer Peel, Barry Cade and 16 others 19
Lacquer Peel Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I thought the plate looked familiar. It decorated a garage in rural Morayshire for a year or two a while ago. Hope you get it going again with minimal hassle. Uncle Jimmy, Magnificent Rustbucket and Sudsprint 3
garethj Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Can't help with an auto electrician I'm afraid, but I'm in awe of the Gamma coupe. Think of the fire as part of the ownership experience, like being called a tosser when you have a BMW or people telling you about Princess Anne when you have a Reliant Scimitar. RoadworkUK Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 It's awful when internal combustion isn't quite internal enough. Glorious car, though. tooSavvy, rantingYoof, Twiggy and 2 others 5
Six-cylinder Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Post Christmas battery charge and spin ended in small fire and small talk with the AA man. Natch. Anyone know a good mobile auto electrician in South London? I have to say you are living the dream! It may be hassle but having such a great looking, unusual car is worth it. I do have an Auto electrician who fixed my Alfa 156 but I guess North Bucks is no good to you. More pictures of the good times please.
HMC Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Calendar shot material right there! What else is in the fleet to use whilst the Gamma gets sorted?
egg Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Dave Patrick in Sittingbourne Kent is a helpful auto electrician, 01795 470 704. May know a mobile one nearer to you. Claphamrangie 1

wuvvum Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I had a Gamma coupe. It was rather rustier than yours. On the plus side, it never caught fire. michael1703 and HMC 2

Claphamrangie Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 That's a stunning Range Rover! I love the detailing on these earlier ones. More pics and details please! It is a 1982 model with the Chrysler Torqueflite auto and option pack 'C'. I bought it in 2012 and have replaced the sills, taken the body off the chassis to shot-blast and rust-proof it, re-built the suspension and reconditioned the bodywork. andrew e, Barry Cade, Rusty_Rocket and 14 others 17
wuvvum Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 That Rangie really is a stunner! Must be one of the first 5-doors, surely?
Claphamrangie Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 Second year of 4door production. I love it for its originality
Sudsprint Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 That Range Rover is absolutely gorgeous. Silver suits those crisp sharp lines and it looks fantastic on those wheels. I lust after it because it looks perfection. That Gamma Coupe is absolutely gorgeous. Silver suits those crisp sharp lines and it looks fantastic on those wheels. Asimo Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I had a Gamma coupe. It was rather rustier than yours. On the plus side, it never caught fire. Me too. Mine was far too damp to burn. Even the engine oil had water in it. alf892, ShiteRider and Claphamrangie 3

Claphamrangie Posted March 20, 2016 Author Posted March 20, 2016 what was the problem in the end?Someone had bodged the electric power steering pump into the ignition circuit, which overloaded and burnt out the switch. Now got a new switch courtesy of the Gamma Consortium and wired the pump in properly. Only problem is that the electrician broke the sodding wiper stalk!! egg 1
Claphamrangie Posted March 20, 2016 Author Posted March 20, 2016 Jesus that thing is so gorgeous it's unfair. Swap for a BX?im actually looking for a box or, possibly, a Gs/Renault 16 for our place in France
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Nobody has mentioned MARTYN BUCLY yet.
Claphamrangie Posted March 20, 2016 Author Posted March 20, 2016 I think that my car is unique in being the only surviving Gamma that Martin has never owned. 11001010, anonymous user and Skizzer 3
Skizzer Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 I am consumed with jealousy. Consumed, I tell you. Claphamrangie 1
