Kit cars based on old Fords.

Love to see what someone could make out of a Mk3 Mondeo...

Who exactly was the stupid git that had the daft idea to do away with tailfins?

I hope he has prematurely died a long and painful death caused by cancer.

And in total violation of forum rules, something non-automotive:

Aldi, please bring back that wonderful curry-cream soup.

Sentinel S type steam lorry, its nice to have a decent heater in the cab. And while we're at it can we have proper big tits back instead of dollops of French window sealant? I'm thinking Norma Ann Sykes in her younger days here.

It missed out the Lada 110, still made in Ukraine unchanged from the original 1995 car.

I still wish they made 1/64 scale toy cars with opening features. My son has lots of Hotwheels and Matchbox cars and none have this. He loves looking at my old Corgi Juniors cars with opening doors and boots.

I'd like to see a return of Lada's in Britain. People made it look like they rusted but actually they could cope with punishing soviet roads and Russian snow. Also they were built like tanks

I would love a brand new car that has the following:

Simple three box design.

No sunroof.

Solid colour.

High profile tyres.

Comfortable ride.

Simple electronics with no EML.

Naturally aspirated.

Timing chain.

Solid flywheel.

5 speed manual transmission.

RWD.

No driver aids (ABS is ok).

Mechanical handbrake.

Rugged industrial interior design and finish. No fucking tv screens!

Big boot but must have full sized spare wheel.

Until someone makes this car I will keep driving my W124 E220, which ticks all my boxes.

JPS air fresheners in the shape of a wheel and Feu Orange.

70s smells are our concern and those Jelly bean things can Fro.

Cars with carb fed engines, no emission controls and metal, preferably chrome bumpers.

And cars that are actually styled by a skilled person with a pencil and paper not a load of wind tunnel results thrown through a computer and resulting in some bland, round blob that all look the same no matter the make or model.

Mid sized practical five door British diesel hatchbacks like the Maxi.

Nissan dealers have the Qashqai. The mid sized hatchback didn't die it just gained height.  Or for those who want to sit nearer the road there's the Vauxhall Astra, Honda Civicand Toyota Auris.

406v6 I think you missed Wtc's witticism there.

Remember Old Fart and his tales of things that never happened in cars that didn't exist?

I miss old fart. He said that my sort were potato headed, but he was gone before I could establish what variety. Has that Renault twat gone too, I see he's turned yellow?

Yes, thank fuck.

Another vote here for the 205, W124 and C15.  And the original Blingo, though that's probably still made in Paraguay or somewhere similar.  And Audi got it right in 1998 with the air-suspended A6, then went rapidly off-piste...

Any car with:

The correct engine - a normally-aspirated straight 6.

Correct-wheel-drive.

Headlights NOT smeared back to the A-pillars.

The option of NO central locking or electric windows.

A foot-operated dipswitch (this should of course be mandatory for every car on the road)

Gauges that are directly connected to sensors and are direct-reading.  All of them, which must include Ammeter, Voltmeter, tacho, temperature gauge, oil-pressure gauge.

Proper cable-operated handbrake.

High-profile tyres, nothing less than 75-section is acceptable

Decent ride comfort.

Everything that contains fluid must be fully accessible to the owner-driver, with easy means of checking levels.

All metal surfaces, joints and creases to be finished off, so you can shove your hand in without getting cut.

Original Petersen made mole grips. You can't beat them. All imposters are shite.

Also chrome bumpers cars - in my case the early E30 3 series.

I like them, but they are shit, uncomfortable and not fit for purpose.

A large French saloon. The C6 and 607 weren't replaced and the Safrane replacement isn't a saloon.

Now you can only buy German saloons with rock hard suspension.

Surely there is a gap in the market for comfort and style rather than bling and aggression.
