Yes I did mate. Don't worry, she is on here still :)

The Mitsu is sooooo much easier to get in and out of in all honesty.

Here you go you pestering bunch of gits :)  Piccies :)

Quite a nice radio cassette, shame about there just being two front speakers.

All works and seems to be quite bright.

It is very comfy with TONS of seat adjustment options. Seat cloth is in very good condition, rear seat is a bit dusty but will clean up easily. Carpets need a clean here and there.

A/C seems to work :)

Headlight washers don't. Not sure why. Drivers door mirror is heated!

Headlining is happily attached to the roof bits. Sunroof works, no sign of leaks.

I need to work out how to remove the rear seats at some point.

Drivers side window is a bit sticky and hesitant to do up at times. I will lube things and clean out the switch. Not a major issue yet though.

That is about it. Me like!

You did all right there Ken, didn't you!  Count me in when the time comes.

Posted

Cheers mate. It seems very well put together and solid. A very 90's vehicle (obv).

Swapz for Volvo 740 M8? :)

Seriously though, good job.

Posted

Cheers mate. Can't wait to use it to be honest.

Comfy, great visibility and so on.

Sad to hear that the Volvo situation was not as you'd hoped :(

That is actually a really straight looking old thing....absolute barg for £250!!

I bet it drives fantastically. Compared to some of the crap that the manufacturers were turning out at that time, it's not hard to understand how the Japanese got such a foothold in euroland!

Spent a bit more time on the car today. I was going to sort out more of the Sierra but some cunt parked in front of the garage.

Carpets in the back came up lovely :)

The rear seats tilt back but not flat unfortunately, so no bed type use. Still comfy though.

Down side is that there is little useful cubby type storage that you would get on later MPV's. Shame as there is space for something.

Just got to clean the carpets up front and give the car a wash on the outside. Oh, also have to fix the rear overhead interior light, most likely just needs new bulbage.

Getting to like this more and more.

It is so comfy and has tons of visibility. Ok, it is not the most refined of MPV's but it does the job.

Tracking needs a tweak, maybe a job for this week. Haha.

Drivers door window operation is a problem, it goes down perfectly but will not go up again and the switch has to be pressed repeatedly to get it to work. Diagnosis..... knackered switch. Ebay outcome is a switch for a Space Runner, looks identical and cost 16 quid. Fitted, works, happy.

I don't think I've ever seen one of these that wasn't that dark red colour!

Posted

Haha, well I saw the slightly bigger version in the same blue in Waitrose carpark. This was shortly after getting mine. Haven't seen the dark red version :)

I love how much difference a bit of satin black makes to things like wipers and trims. Looks tidy and a massive barg at £250.

Posted

Tracking adjusted today and then treated the car to a proper wash. Window still works :)

Posted

bloody hell, £250??

well you cannot go far wrong at that, and been jap it will just run and run....

not my kinda thing but well bought all the same.

i mean, £250 quid, thats gotta be as cheap as walking???

Posted

Possibly cheaper :)

I love driving it, is so effortless. This and my former Taxi have been the best things automatic in the history of ever.

Autoshite rear number plate fitted, front to be done when I get some aluminum backing plate. Found a can of satin black spray paint in the cupboard! Bonus :)

Posted

Have been using this more than the i10, it is comfier, roomier, more funnier and overall rather bloody good.

Tracking was found to be miles out and was adjusted. Wheel balancing next weekend I think.

Lobbed 25 litres of dinojuice in it and travelled 200 miles before the orange glowing light flickered on. 40mpg???

Mrs PBK finally agreed* to sit in the passenger seat of the Mitsu whilst we trundled over to a family meet.

It smells of petrol.

No it doesn't.

Yes, it smells of petrol, you want to be careful with it.

It does not small of petrol! All the cars I buy smell of petrol according to you.

It does!

No it bloody doesn't, now stop bloody going on about it!

FFS. It does NOT smell of petrol

being oriental of a certain age does the headlight wash have its own button á la acclaim?

Shit. I never considered that. Damn.

Does this mean I have reached the very point of ascension in autoshite terms? Cool!

Yes, it does. They don't work though which is disappointing. I will investigate at some point.

The headlight washer reservoir is full but it looks a bit murky. There is no buzzing noise to indicate pump happenings. Will check fuse/connections when I figure out how to get to the fucker.

No doubt that will mean bumper removal. Hmm. It may wait. Quite a while.

Only two but according to Mrs PBK they are larger than normal.

I thought that sounded familiar.....

Brilliant purchase Sir, I fully recommend a people and stuff carrier for the Shiter's fleet at all times, how else is one supposed to do the tip run in one go otherwise??

My new three hundred and twenty quid Kia Sedona is belting purchase, and I reckon I'm getting high thirties MPG, better than my LWB Transit :-D

I've had loads of Jap stuff as well, like Liteace, Hiace, Elgrand, Bongo - all great fun to drive and reliable as they come, here's a picture of a particularly mental purchase -

Oh my, that one of mine was vaguely Batman themed, and I did remove a lot of unnecessary fibreglass bodykit, such as the whale tail, rear platform and a couple of inches off the bottom of the front bumper to get it up my driveway without grounding, but that thing there is properly bonkers!!

I did do this to a scrapper Jaaaaag for a laugh with the whaletail :-D

IMG_0153.jpg

Then tried it on another normal Hiace

IMG_0111.jpg

Flogged the whaletail to some looney in wales I think, no idea what his plans were
