Shite What U Can Show Up With

Recommended Posts

For my impeding job hunts and potentially ensuing contract work, I need some shite that is suitable for showing up with at job interviews/customers.

Caution:

- No diesel

- No post taxation change (2001?)

So please suggest something sensible, before I go and buy this:

The sensible answer is Vantman's Ovlov, my parents had one of these (except manual) and it was lovely.

Junkman will buy the Oldsmobile.

I say buy the shite that most reflects your personality and what your comfortable with, but more importantly buy one that's in good condition not falling to bits

V70s are value, post-2000 you take your chances with canbus, pre you risk being judged as someone interested in driving and motors. Less mindnumbingboredom than with most moderns, generally well looked-after. Difficult to pre-judge Volvoers from an employer's pov.

Realistically: Mercedes W124 or 190, Discovery if really clean (but not P38 unless you're aiming for narcotics courier/bouncer roles), anything forgettable if really clean and well presented.

455 ci motor - ripe for go faster bits - but they are more expensive than ford / cheverolet.

What's wrong with the 405?

It's a notch below what would be appropriate, I'm afraid. Also, she wouldn't let me have it.

anything pre 2013 or post 1973 you are a failure(in modern peoples speaks),its not new and its not "classic"

Do you own a carpet warehouse in Halifax? If so, it's got the perfect image.

Try something 90s but bombproof. Old Volvo, old Merc, old SAAB etc.

Or enjoy knowing something ordinary boring people don't, and swan about in a cheap 75.

I'd be impressed if you turned up for a job I was interviewing you for in that, what line of work do you do anyway?

Automotive Global Supply Chain Logistics.

Audi is a good bet, it helped that the late 100s look identical to an A6 ten years younger so lob a private plate on it it's that much of an issue.

Same with Saab, people just can't date them without looking at the numberplate where you show them a 2000 Mondeo and it just looks ancient.

Or just talk to BobTheBeard who had LITERALLY just decided to flog his Prelude.

I give it 14 seconds before I get bored of this

I know that feeling. So you managed to buy it in the end? What happened, did they magically unsell it?
