C&PR Railway Visit - Driver for a fiver mug shots!

Have a bump, and a bit of a suggestion. We're looking for 35 people to make up sufficient numbers, right? And cost is looking likely to be £15 each. I for one would be happy to pay another couple of quid if numbers are short (I really doubt they will be), if it means this can be booked sooner rather than later.

I just don't want the date to be taken by anyone else, and for us to miss out!

That is certainly an option, the other is to encourage AS'ers to bring along paying friends?

It may well work out that as we get closer we have enough to cover min charges anyway.

I'll ask my mate on Monday.

Put me down too. negociations with SWMBO have resulted in the green lighht as long as I bring one of the kids (he will be 2 1/2 so assuming he goes free?)

My 3 1/2 year old will be there so he will have company. We can feed them full fat coke and smarties, they will be OK...

My mate Dan, who is sat next to me, and was born in Chinnor, and is older than me, has never been on the train.

He said yes, so add one more. He may not come to Shitefest itself though if we have it that weekend.

Can we start planning sf16 now off the back of this, or is there a more official vote we need to go with? I need to start pretending to save for it soon!

Add me if the train is dog friendly ,  sounds like a good run out for the Micetro.

Choo Choo!

Can more be added still though? Is it a case of the more the merrier or is there a limited number of places?

Posted

It is not a problem for other AS members to join the list, the important thing is we have reached our Min number for the event to go ahead.

Let's hope the weather is better then! It's blowing sideways rain in Chinnor, the straight is starting to flood! (just tested the arch liner)

I have now contacted the Railway and confirmed our booking to take over the railway!

We need to collect our group booking money together ourselves, any body experienced in collecting money for a group and able to volunteer? Failing this I will take this on, I have paypal which seems a popular method of payment at the moment and as long as money is sent to a friend does not attract any fees. You could also send me cheques or bank transfer but because of the short sender info, sender can be hard to identify. I will give it a week and if nobody steps forward I will work out how I am going to collect the payments.

Shitefest 2016

I presume that the plan is have shitefest the same weekend as the Railway visit at our field?

In due coarse I will start a second list for Shitefest campers so we have some idea how many we have coming.

I'll leave us both in for bonus numbers since it doesn't affect the booking, but I was asking preemptively - got another booking that weekend we have to move first.

Posted

I will have money again on the 22nd - that ok like?  FINGERS CROSSED FOR XANTIA MOT ON 11TH.

With us SVM delegations being so far away, we shall have to use the Bankers Automated Clearing System, Telex or PayPal if it's to be paid in advance.

Happy news from the C&PR Railway

"Having got some track into the Restoration and Education Centre (REC) our Gronk 08825 then decided it was just too good an opportunity to miss and edged gently though the door! Thanks to Andy and Dave for recording an historic moment of our first 'patient' inside the REC..."
