Patina on classic cars is ok but in my opinion a sharp coat of paint always looks so much better.

 

Matte black is grim unless it came matte black.

 

Junkman is right on a modern car like this (albeit 20 years old) especially one in such good condition it needs to be painted otherwise it just comes across as scrap, attracts the (unwanted) attention of the 5-0 and makes it a wholly unpleasant sight on the roads.

As an aside, I once saw a Fiat Uno that had been given replacement panels in a different colour. It was red once but every bolt on panel was white. All it needed was a bit of white on the rear quarters. The roof would have looked fine in red

Nightmare. My 75 was painted all over, on the way back i was rattled by a gritter. I'm still livid 3 years on.
