Many Thanks to Rob for all the help and picking me up from the station and getting the car prepped for its trip. Just about to set off homewards.

Was a pleasure Wayne, safe journey! Here he is adopting the pose. Woolarding at midnight seemed a tad surreal

Now at Keele services. Running like clockwork but I've got to stop for a rest as I'm knackered

Tiredness kills, take a break! I couldn't have done that journey. 12 hours on a coach? Jeez, no thanks.

I would have bitten the bullet and got the plane down but the car looks like a nice wafty place to be for the return leg

At Southwaite services for fuel & fluids check. Not far to the border then I'll really feel like I'm getting there. ETA into Aberdeen at 13:15. Such a comfy old barge. Over the moon with it.

Not far to go now. Car looks grand. I bet it beats the Megabus for speed, comfort and company.

Take care on the last bit, don't start relaxing too soon. Take a break, have a walk about.

Brilliant- CHOD- the choice of winners!

In your break have a thumb through the history- there's the original purchase invoice somewhere in there including £150 for the RS spoiler and a fee for " red inserts" Rob and I were unsure what this meant- did it originally have red bumper trim inserts rather than chrome- maybe a Q for the ford experts?

I had a quick look at the bill of sale and almost passed out on Robs sofa at the cost. Not sure about 'red inserts'. On the bumpers and door trim is the only place I can think for them but I've never seen a Granada or Scorpio with anything other than chrome. It's a 7pm sailing tonight straight to Lerwick as the timetable changed on 1st November so plenty of time to get kids Christmas presents and fill that cavernous boot :-)

And never mind that, we need to see pictures of your Mondeo Rob and better still a picture of the sellers face when you try to pay him with the Monopoly money I gave you ðŸ˜Â

Another autoshite legend is born, that car is a cracker!  Considering it spent 20 years doing 50 odd thousand miles trundling around London, it's done some mega trips this last few months.

Am collecting it at 6.30 after work, so I'll get some dark ropey photos of it later (assuming I don't have a FTP on the way home).  I've got 'normal' money to give him later!

Dad had a d plate Sierra with the option for "cobra red inserts". They were the red trim line in the bumper and the side rubbing strip.

Are you back yet?

Don't forget that you're never gonna survive unless you get a little crazy.

Still a 12 1/2 hour ferry trip to go yet, then another drive from Lerwick. It's quite far.
