Father Ted Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Just paid £2 for one of these from the local chastity shop. New,in its box and I'm rather looking forward to lashing it to the Micra. The cow is very funny.
ashmicro Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Ha! That looks like a lot of fun! I had a similar thing which made machine-gun noises. On reflection, probably not a good idea inearly-90s Northern Ireland.
Albert Ross Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Absolutely wonderful stuff!I had a CB with the PA speaker under the wing of a capri. It was great at pedestrian crossings, saying into the mike, "PPHHHWWWOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRRR!" at totties walking across. Got my mate a slap one day as he had his window open on the pavement side...................HA!
pogweasel Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Yes, my friend had one of those on his Land Rover, the mooing is quite entertaining. I would still recommend you plump for a ship's foghorn or train horn, especially on an inappropriate Micra. PARP PARP.
Pillock Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 I was playing with one of those in a mate's camper as we drove through london after a gig. In hindsight, just after the 11/9 bombings having machine gun fire and police sirens at full volume wasn't the wisest of moves.... luckily we escaped the attention of the real rozzers and I packed it in.
25v6turbo Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Is this a simple job to make work in the car,if so anyone got a complete setup for sale??
Father Ted Posted February 11, 2009 Author Posted February 11, 2009 2 wires / speaker cable through the bulkhead and wire the control box into a live feed in the car - simple.Back in the 80's I too had a CB radio, but being a cheapskate used not a bullhorn, but a simple 8ohm speaker stuck to the inside wing waterproofed with cling fim. Worked, kind of.
Guest Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 I still have an old CB rig that doubled as an excellent PA amplifier, unfortunately I plugged it into ten quid's worth of plastic loudhailer wedged in between the battery and the +ve cable. Didn't take long for it to rattle out of place and onto the exhaust downpipe... I do now have a bulletproof water-resistant speaker built into a KC Daylighter spotlamp shell but you need a certain size of car to be able to hide it underbonnet!
VWPowered Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 i had the machine gun one had loads of flash leds on it :Dgreat purchase
Split_Pin Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 He he thats ace.I also recommend an orange rotary beacon that plugs into your cigarette lighter and driving down to your local retail park on a Saturday night with the beacon on inside the car and the mooing noises coming from the megaphone.
