New shite bought Friday!

Renault 9 TSE from 1983 in great condition!

Only 26.240 miles (41.895 k.m.), one owner car, in storage from 2003 on, with a good battrey and fresh petrol it fired up within 15. minutes.

I know it's not a very popular car, but I like 9s and 11s..

In the spring 2016 I will try to get a MOT, and keep it as a weekend runner.

What a nice looking car. I had one and the seats were the softest squishiest seats in the whole world.

That looks to be in great condition. Top buy!

Lovely car. I've not seen one in a long time, they seem to have just about disappeared.

That looks great. Pity that there aren't many 9s or 11s around any more.

That's lovely, looks practically brand new and given the mileage I suppose it is.

Fantastic. Look at that steering wheel! I had no idea they put the Renault logo on the horizontal surface of the centre.

You are not the only one who likes these cars. Most of the other fans will be somewhere on this site!

Great buy.

My sister had ones of these in blue, I thought it was stunning at the time. Went well too.

You could use the flat part of the steering wheel boss as a mantlepiece. A carriage clock would look nice. Or a Newton's cradle.

In a Brian Sewell style; their early work had some merit, this is deplorable...and silver. I like mucho.

Now just waiting for photos of that 25 GTX. Thanks in advance. :)

I was wondering about the 25 as well....That 9  interior is very acceptable.

IIRC that would be the second poshest 9. You tended to get more toys with each engine upgrade, so a TSE would have more toys than a TLE but fewer than a TXE.

I had a TSE and it was a great little car, much nicer than the equivalent models from Ford or Vauxhall.

I don't know what it is about these but they give me the horn. I can see myself owning one at some point if any are left. If not I will have to go over to Turkey and get one and drive it home.

goodness, look at that....

I think here you will find that there are a GREAT MANY fans of the renner 9 and 11.

this site is that kinda place.

Thanks for all the reactions!

Some more details:

On the pictures the car looks silver, but it is more a silver/blue shade, colorcode 490, name is bleu baltique.

The car is bought from an elderly first owner from Belgium, a private collector bought it in 2003, but didn't import or register the car in The Netherlands, just parked it in between other collectables.

First thing I will do in the next spring is, import it and get the MOT sorted, there is some work on the car, mostly on the brakes, they are a bit stuck..

The engine runs as a brandnew one, this is how they are supposed to run, I couldn't believe my eares.

All fluids have to be changed and new tyres, because they are from ...1990..

Check the needles on the meters, they are still bright orange, the car hasen't seen a lot of sun, the top of the backseat isn't touched by the sun also.

When the car was ordered new, the first owner wanted some extra's factory fitted, it has the "Pack Comfort", this is central locking, electric windows at the front, with leather covvered steering wheel, arm rest in the back seat, and two reading lamps in the C-pillars,the dealer fitted before dellivery original "Renault boutique" mudflaps at the back, they are quite special molded.

The car also has the extra tinted windows and lamminated windscreen, wich was at extra cost, and lets not forget the most simple radio I've ever seen..still in working order.

The alloys are standard on the 1983 TSE model, the 1981/82 model had steel rims with plastic wheeltrims( on this side of the channel)

I had an eye on a 9TSE from 1982 with wipers on the headlamps and the right wheels, but that car was a 1800k.m. drive to get it here, the one I have now, was 87 k.m from our house, so the dissision was very easy..

Please ask me everything about the car, I will make a topic on the 25 GTX soon..

If there are some spelling mistakes, do not mind, living on the other side of the channel from 1982 makes you forget..

Ooohhh how lush is that.  I got given a 9 by my sister which I ragged mercilessly.  It was 1.4 with mega short 1st gear but meant it was quick off the lights!

It got cubed after I took it to a garage in portsmouth for an MOT and he just laughed at me. Said fuel tank was dripping and the rest was junk (to be fair it was hanging). Had to pay £50 to scrap it!

Soft comfy seats though. Had a very odd adjustment where the seat almost rock and rolled.

My 9 TSE from 1983 had all of that, except the rear armrest I think. I've a feeling it had (non-functioning) headlamp wipers too, and it definitely had front fog lights. Did the UK get a higher spec than other markets?

Living on the other side of the channel and from 1982 means you don't need to remember anything else, Eric!
