Crashed my classic, and the repairer can't be arsed, apparently.

Booked in for paint on 1st September. I may well have the whole car done.

Any insurance bollocks make sure you follow their procedure and when the screw that up hit 'em with the Ombudsman.

Well, the insurers finally paid out and it's now gone to the paint shop for a complete new coat of paint so it'll be gone for a week or so. Glad it's finally got to this stage now.

ah now that's intriguing. what else could be done?

recaro seats, done, ally wheels, done, eye catching paint, it came like that from the factory.

Brilliant to see it looking straight again, can't wait to see pictures of it when it's painted.

It looks good now, nice and straight. Can't wait to see it in fresh paint.

The insurance payout was way more than enough. I'm working on new badges and decals, so it'll be the same but different.

The stripe will continue across the length of the boot; this was just for assessment. I know the boot lid looks scratched and tatty, but it's one that's been in storage and is a lot better than the one that was originally on the car.

And a new grille badge I made, after a company that I contacted that makes these never replied to my enquiry. The camera picked up the airlocks in it but it won't notice on the car, but then I think it gives it more of an aged/patina look .

It'll look great.

It is a bloody shame that this all happened in the first place, and thankfully it didn't end up in a Copart yard. Resurrection is just a short time away

Yes i think i can see a "Princess" badge on the rear pillar ? It was an old  B series 1800 engine i'm sure . Rotten within 4 years..sold for 250 quid .

I liked that car a lot, previously he'd had 2 Landcrabs on the trot , a 1970 1800 S  and a last model 1974 1800 .Why couldn't he wait for the new Prinny !!   All my peers dads had mk3 cortina's or Dolomites , fookin cool eh? and we had these pig ugly old fasioned Landcrabs ...comfy and roomy , but seriously uncool ..And then we had that stylish Princess ,to me it looked like a Ferrari !

That is excellent news and she looks pretty wonderful already. Excellent work Sir.

Visited the paint shop today to see how Snappy was coming along.

Primer laid, and ready for nice new yellow paint.

That's deffo an 1800.  Wonder how long it had sat in a field?

Ah.

Unless it was an odd crossover, you wouldn't expect a Princess 1 to be on the O series and definitely not if it were an 1800.  The number plate is very appealing on that car.

It was an 1800 high line , coz he ain't dead and i asked him the other day. 80 ,still driving .. and lethal . There's Mr.Whites Standard Vangaurd estate opposite .See it? And in front of that was a 59 red Herald coupe, parked up for years... Norman lived next door and he had a dove grey Mini mk1 and we used to bung corks up his exhaust when he was watching football on telly...He'd go mad and shout and shake his fist when it wouldnt start..."Little Herberts !! " We was too...

That looks fantastic. Can't wait to see the fully trimmed results.
