Just read some reviews about the Shady Oak. Take your own bog roll! Otherwise, folk seem to like it. About to head up, via friends, now.

I assume you mean the Midway meet-up which is about 20 miles north of Shrewsbury!

Lord Sterling - KV6

worldofceri - Saab 900

I'll be here,9am ish?

It seems there are a couple of meeting points. Midway is a bit out of the way for me, so I'm still going to call at Lymm. Will anyone else be there?

I'm aiming for Lymm - arrival 08:30 leaving at 09:00

Preparations not going great here.

Umm - track rod end is currently at a machine shop being fettled (20mm hold cut through for a taper to be welded in).

Sera - home made HT lead is not 100% and the drivers door currently doesn't open from the inside (mostly works from outside though). Dash still white, car filthy.

Aerodeck - Replacement fuel relay doesn't fit so the original one was re-soldered, fingers crossed that fixes the hot start issue.

I'm still leaning towards the Sera and not the Aerodeck as I took the Honda to shitefest. I am currently not convinced the Sera will make it on the home-made HT lead though.

It'll be good to see you, whatever you roll up in.

I'm off shortly, late pm eta for me. See y'all at The Shoddy Oak!

Unfortunately there is no way I can attend tomorrow, and it's not even because of my daughters birthday.

Have fun guys.

Outlaw118 I know you have something for me, I'm trying arrange something so that the doors stay at least somewhere up north. Sent PMs to sporty and squire to see if they could help me out with it.

Operation Shed has thrown up a couple of no-longer-required Rover 75 bits that I shall bring along for the lucky* raffle winner or the first 75 owner to claim them.  Goodies include a Haynes WorkOfFiction Manual (with oily grime and blood on pages 83-112 that cover how to change a headlamp bulb), a petrol filler flap and a NOS inner door seal.

Hmmm.  This is acksherley more 'on my way' than the Little Thief option.

Decisions, decisions.

Decision made, after consulting analogue map.  Yay, retro.

Midway it is.  Sorry, Junkers - see you and Conrad at Chumbleboblington.

What time do people want to leave the Shady Bloke in the morning? I might rock up there and head/follow the convoy if I get my timing right, otherwise I'll see you there.

Don't forget to mention we're the HBF Club when you get there, and first one has to nick the best pitch for us all!

The tickets say we need to be in by 11.00am, though I'm sure we were advised to get there for 9.00am latest, ideally. I would think it's probably about 30 minutes 'twixt camping site and castle.

Ok. We are wondering about just getting brekky there. Lovely evening here! But increasingly cold.

Brilliant! Ian, no rush in the morning, just let me know, please. I can go straight there so I don't want to spoil anyone's lie in by arriving at 8.00am with a self revving XUD chucking out noxious clouds of spent Crisp 'N Dry.

Ooh!  Ooh!  305!  305!  J'ai eu une petite crise!

Sooooo bloody jealous of all people going ... have a great time.

Ditto!

Although domestic management did just upgrade the weekend forecast from 'we'll be far too busy' to 'didn't you say there was a car show you want to go to tomorrow'...

I'm not holding my breath tho, because it would be the afternoon, in the modern, with Mrs B and probably a niece in tow, neither of whom are going to tolerate me standing around chatting to the autoshite massive for very long!!

I'm booking next years in now so I can do the whole day!!

Thanks for the offer, but it's a type I've not seen before, small bullet type connectors on the ends.

We made a new lead by crimping blue bullet connectors on. I've now cable tied the lead in place, so hopefully that should keep it secure.

I'll have a look around the stalls tomorrow for one (if I make it). At present the only available replacements are Magnecour at £80+ a set.

Is that the official name of our stand then, if I arrive in a lather at five to eleven and need to badger my way in?

Planning to make the Midway meet around 9 but just in case of a need for plan B....

HBF club stand - that's us, it's usually written on the back of the ticket ;)

The Rover isn't coming tomorrow :(

post-17021-0-02175000-1441485685_thumb.jpg

Came off the motorway and found myself in a cloud of smoke. Inlet gasket (also covers the pushrods) has rotted through and is allowing oil to be sprayed all over the place. I'm really disappointed - I was looking forward to showing it.

So I will be there, in a much less interesting car.

Haha (not @ Conrad, obvs) how are you finding the pub, hope you all like it?

Posted

I really do wish I was there, but even if I had a ticket id have pulled out before now due to skintness...

I'll be there in the morning as part of the Midway crew.....and it's yours for the price of a small donation towards the running costs of the forum

Same goes for the other bit's if anyone wants anything
