Epic thread, 'peas.

Remeber when I worked on a car sales pitch in the '90s, the guy who owned it bought a fleet of 305 GRD estates from a company which was liquidating. ALL BEIGE, with signwriting down the sides. Back then, they were dull conveyances, would that have happened now, that pitch would have WON AUTOSHITE!!11!1

Get this to repair your wheel arches and you will never be bothered with rust again.

I know because I've seen it on cars round here and the rust mysteriously disappears!

Superb stuff, you can't really go wrong with a old Peugeot diesel to be fair, they are like a comfy pair of sleepers.

'comfy old slappers'

Everyone has a comfy old slapper. See 'Volvo like fat bird' simile previously quoted.

Had a look in the glove box, hoping to find a bookies pen or a half packet Woodbines.

Was disappointed though.  All I found was a stamped service history, owners guide and the original instructions for the Phillips DC 553 ICE.

Like many things, it looks much better now you've blasted all the bird poop off it.

I had a girlfriend in Halewood who's mum had one of those, same colour too. Girl had huge norks.

PBK gets the Bejesus award for resurrecting the word 'Norks'...

Must rank up there with the recently re-established Unicorn Champions Hurdle .... Well done that man!

One rear shock is leaking. Maybe two.

Rad is leaking from the rear fin area (radweld?)

All the brakes are shit.  Including the handbrake mech.  Guessing new disks, pads, hopefully adjust the handbrake.

Summat up with the clutch. Pedal is as stiff as a JBL lariat* doesnt return right and the bite is progressive and vague.  It doesnt slip though, and you can spin the wheels without slipping.  Collapsed pressure plate spring or summat?

Hole near passenger door hinge. As pictured earlier. WELD.

On the whole, I'm happy. I thought it would want a days welding, minimum so I'm glad its solid.  There are a few jobs to do, but I'm gonna press on and improve is as I can.

Think it may be a keeper.

Anyway, I think you did very well with just two knackered shocks and some pillar weldage.

Definitely worth restoring, they're so rare.  And delightful to drive when sorted.

Love that interior 8) ...Congratulations on the cleanliness of your undercarriage Mr Shitpeas...

At least any external work can be done on the vertical...Can you get replacement arches or the like in the longterm??

Posted

Arch repair panels exist.  Or they did.  May be able to turn some up.  Fingers crossed.
