I am surprised you say that, it has always seemed a very original car to me. It is an early ish 1968 MK2. I bought it from @RobT of this parish nearly 2 years ago and am really enjoying it. I love the strip Speedo. RobT, chaseracer, CaptainBoom and 1 other 4
High Jetter Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 I love the strip too, remember a landcrab Dad had with one. I meant it was late for me, not the car, and that it would originally not have a yellow background rear plate

Me I had to be different, in 1980 I was running this 1969 Triumph Vitesse 2.0 MK2 saloon and replaced the yellow-white plates with black perspex with silver line letters, well I did sell them in the motor parts store I managed. I topped the Mazda fuel up today and over the last 200 miles it has given me 34.9 mpg, a slight improvement. Nearly meeting my expectation now.

Six-cylinder Posted November 29, 2025 Author Posted November 29, 2025 Prize winning Mazda! Today was a local meeting for the Loose Alliance Group at the Dukes, Heath and Reach. I had planned to take my Morris 1300, but it was pouring with rain and I nearly took the Range Rover. In the end I settled on the Mazda 323 and glad I did as it won "Car of the Day" that gives me a free breakfast next time! Seems it was the oldest classic out today and others bought a modern classic or daily car. ProgRocker, High Jetter, IronStar and 13 others 14 2

That very dead Welsh milk float, with the most valuable* component of said vehicle being the Mk3 Escort door mirror, sprayed in gold no less. Due to the 6 cylinder’s combined generosity, I think I’ve driven 6 of these. Six-cylinder 1
Six-cylinder Posted December 7, 2025 Author Posted December 7, 2025 Minis are frightened of rain! This morning it was the Milton Keynes Mini's breakfast meeting. Wet and miserable, only 8 people turned out and only 2 Minis came. Sorry to say I did not fancy getting mine out from it covered parking, but as my Morris 1300 was already out in the rain I did use that. The Beetle substituted for Colin's BMW Mini that had a 17 psi tyre when he went to leave home this morning. Wet and soggy farm animals were not happy. LightBulbFun and Stinkwheel 2
Six-cylinder Posted December 7, 2025 Author Posted December 7, 2025 Look what happened to us today! Back in 2020 I became aware of a 1976 Opel Manta 1.9 Auto coupe who's owner was not very well. Both Mrs6C and I liked the car and we made enquires, but unfortunately the owner was to ill too deal with them. Eventually the owner passed away and his sister inherited the collection of 9 cars including the Manta Coupe we liked. We made enquires of the sister and were told the cars were not a priority. Time went on and through a contact I made an offer for the 8 remaining cars including the Manta Coupe we liked so much and it was accepted. We took delivery of our prized Manta on 5th August 2021. In April 2023 some friends from the Triumph Club freed off the brakes and it was transported to my favourite garage. While not a wreck it had been off the road for a long time and needed a bit of welding, a mechanical inspection and generally some love. Back in the summer I was informed it was ready for collection, but I delayed as it was being stored under cover. Eventually I was given the Christmas 2025 deadline and today he took the view he knew where I lived and dropped it on my drive using his own transporter! He has been so good to us and wouldn't even take any fuel money. I had to go out this afternoon and it was dark when I got home so this week before we put it away for winter I will give it a drive. @sutty2006 timolloyd, Zelandeth, sutty2006 and 36 others 36 3

Six-cylinder Posted December 8, 2025 Author Posted December 8, 2025 The other bit of news from yesterday I left off because I was so excited by the return of the Manta is afterwards was the return of the Citroen ZX Estate. Unfortunately this year it had to have some welding for the MOT. All fixed now. LightBulbFun, Mrs6C, Brigsy and 6 others 9
