If I did that on my Cavalier it would have to be a :-( as it got the Mot Saturday!

How's your Cavalier going did you get any of the parts you were after?

I fixed the digital temp guage with a second hand sensor and guage. Work perfect now. I bought an electric aerial from a GSi/diplomat or what ever it was. Turned out to be seized so I painstakingly stripped it down, cleaned and lubricated the vital parts and had it working with the cover off the motor. But with the cover on it seamed to struggle going up and down (ooo errr). So I built it up and fitted it (even tho there are no mount point for it) and it got stuck and blew the fuse...... so I ripped it out and put the old manwell aerial back in. Still on the hunt for a decent manual aerial. :(

Did the front disks the other day (supplied with car) but the pads I bought from halfords were wrong so its back to the drawing board.

Is it time to acknowledge that this is actually a 90s Vauxhall forum?  Awesome car, really very good.  Thanks for sharing your story.

I have a Mk3 Astra (well more than one) with broken visor clips, we need to find something we can get them from that will work.

Guilty of also owning a Mk3 Astra. Ive gone through about three of those clips before I found that one off a later model corsa (I think) is basically the same but reinforced with metal. Think the Zafira may have the same. You have to trim a bit of plastic of the back but they fit fine. I may still have one in my boot, I'll check later.

Nice work on the Temp gauge. I had the same hassle with a second hand electric aerial so just went back to another cheap Halfords manual job.

There a few after market ones on Ebay at the minute but If your after a genuine aerial the part number is:

91138789 manual aerial

90407367 manual aerial cap / seal.

Got this info from the Ecat24.Com site worth a look if your after a Genuine Vauxhall part number. A chap off Ebay put me on to it after I brought a new Gear Linkage from him.

My Cav failed it's Mot Sat so looks like some major wallet surgery is about to take place! Sadly looks like it take at least a month to get it all sorted. :-(
