Cars you didn't know existed until very recently.

There's a new VW called the Arteon. Neverbloodyheard of it m8.

I spotted an Arteon in Berlin last week. It's replacing the (Passat) CC, VW's weird attempt at the Merc CLS.

In France last week and I was passed by a Peugeot 3008 SUV, I had no idea they were a thing, or the 2008 I saw soon afterwards.

to be honest, except for the badge, I'll doubt if I recognise them the next time I see them either.

I've seen a few of those Ford Edges about. They seem to be an American-market 'crossover' (bleurgh) that they decided to sell here now. They're much bigger in person than they look in photos!

This one genuinely has me stumped. From the front it looks like a generic early 90s sports car, but from the back it looks like a Mk3 Fiesta convertible (if they ever made such a thing.)

Any ideas of what it is?

Thank you very much.

Only on here would you be able to find several people who can identify an obscure 90s kit car and link you to the owners club site within 15 minutes of posting up about it. Nobody else I know could figure out what on earth it was.

Identical steering wheel to my Mum's Toyota Aurion. No idea whats going on with the badges or what it is, but possibly worth checking grey import sites to see if there is more of them about

How could anyone not know the XJS existed, you may be asking. Ah, but this is a Daimler XJS. Sharp eyes will notice the flutes on the top of the grille, and it's also a hardtop with a targa roof and no buttresses. It was built in 1985 but the Americans didn't take to it and preferred the convertible so it went no further.

That's rather nice.

I saw one of those this morning and wondered what it was. Some sort of new-fangled Volvo thing then.

Saw this today so I know it exists but I still don't know what it is. A quick Google suggests it's a Toyota of some sort but I'm none the wiser. Some sort of JDM?

Yeah spot on. It's a JDM Toyota Will VS (with optional bodykit).

Have a look at the Will Cypha, that's an odd one too.

Excellent thanks, you've answered two questions, one of which I never even asked! I've seen a few of those Cyphas about but didn't know what they were. Now I do, thanks. They usually seem to be in some sort of dayglo shade.

By the way, you're avatar made me smile. Kevin Eldon as Rod Hull, that takes me back.

I'm assuming this never existed. I like, though.

.

I've always had a soft spot for estate cars, particularly those of three door variety ..as in many of the more sporting coach-builts. Perhaps it's the overall proportions & balance of these cars, their seamlessness, or the longer (and seemingly more streamlined) length of the glazing ..as well as their inherent usability.

Accordingly I was rather taken by this very stylish Citroen CX  . .
