MPM Erelis

A French 3 cylinder budget sports saloon based off of a Russian thing, in production from 2016-2021

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPM_Erelis

Russian sports car modified and built by the French with a 1.2l engine, if only it was beige...

Thanks for clearing up what this thing is. I‘ve seen one here a few times and could not figure out what it was. I was hoping it was electric though...

At first I just thought you were posting photos of a Karmann Ghia!

The ‘close resemblance’ is supposedly the main reason it didn’t go into production.

is there a link?

Looks a bit like a late 40s / very early 50s Crosley, but after looking up pics I don't think it's one of those at all.  WTF is it?

Am not on Facebook so maybe the answer is there for Facebookers to see.

According to Teh Internetz it's sat on a Studebaker M29 Weasel chassis; I think I prefer it as a Weasel TBH.

They'd have to be some pretty potent steroids.  We stopped for a McDonald's on the way back from collecting it, I parked up next to a P38 and it made the Range Rover look like a Terios.

I like that, in a utilitarian sort of way.

The front-end styling is a bit awkward, and it looks like the one in the photos is missing a front bumper, though.

In a word; Derivative.

Even uglier than a real Rolls Royce.

Website's not been updated for 2 years = vapourware. It doesn't appear to tilt either, which these days means no commercial buyer will touch it with a barge pole even if it will pass IVA/SVA. You'd need to really want one for 12k(or double that if you buy it ready assembled).

They did a special yellow version then?

I agree that it looks like it's had a few prangs already! 'Innovate'? It's certainly a whole new direction for vehicle design*

The Alfa Romeo AR6 isn't something I knew about until yesterday.

Have a look for the AR8 - the AR6 is Ducato-based but the AR8 is Iveco Daily

Allard should have stayed with Cadillac power. Villiers - pfff!

My parents neighbour's one does ok with Chevrolet power, mind. Think he was disappointed he couldn't quite crack 200mph with it though.

This could be my one ! The same colour and interior. I bought it in Sydney and it was traded in Canberra at the BMC dealer for a new Mini K 1100 in 1970

The Victorian H-plate dates to the early 60's, if it was re-registered in Victoria in the early 70's it would be on an L-plate or a late-issue K-plate, so it's unlikely that it's your previous one. That being said, it could be on a private plate that's period correct (I see fairly new cars with plates from the 90's on them). Got any photos of the Wolseley or the K1100 Mini?

You took me a bit too literally ! Mine was manual trans, and the one here has an "Automatic" badge on the boot lid. I think I have one photo of each, both slides , put away somewhere. The mini pic was taken on a new years day, sitting in the snow south of Canberra. Will look for them.
