Time to get it off the truck!

First I saw this pic, and after noticing "Not too bad!" I said: He is really, properly crazy...  but then next pics showed my previous evaluation was premature and incomplete :-o

Thumbs up!

If I ever hear this pickup is on the road again, I will go to see it and then buy you a beer or whatever is your poison...

I saw this yesterday and I will be seriously impressed if it ever sees the road again. It's going to take a lot of filing cabinets.

I couldn't find the programme I was talking about yesterday on Youtube so I uploaded it myself. This is Clarkson just after he left old Top Gear.

The bit the FSO reminded me of starts at 8:27 but the whole thing is worth watching.

looks well squishy. Good luck with it I was bored of welding just patching the floor pans in my Cortina this looks like an epic project.

It was a sparkly stick...

Boom!

It's fucked it's fucked it's fucked it's fucked.......

Jesus, that even makes the ones that Steve restores look good. Is it even doable?

^^^what he said. Think the same should be done with the two Visa's unless LHD are rare too.

Good luck with this though. Are all the cars there that bad?

Posted

I'm 50/50 on what to do... It's well and truly fucked but then I knew that when I bought it, Now that I've cut the wings and front off I can see how bad it actually is...

Posted

In the pictures it looks like the front end is actually spreading apart now that the nose is off, that can't be healthy.  Be a shame to see restoration stop but perfectly understandable.  can you not get the exploding cabbage over with his crazy welding skills?

I would slit my wrists confronted with that. Respect to you FOAD!!

You could be the Bruce Lee of welding but it's pretty pointless if there's nowt to weld to. Perhaps tap up Bucketeer to keep his peepers open for a left hooker when he returns to Bulgaria?

I'm going to continue a bit at a time, what's the rush? What I'm really needing is to have a clear out in the workshop, I can't move for tripping over car parts and shite. The jumbuck is nearly fixed so I'll use it to clear a space and go from there.

I'm amazed Cyanide Steve hasn't bought this yet. I think the one that he bought in two halves is almost finished now. Well, it's one vehicle again at least...

This could be done, but you would need a LOT of spare time to do so.
Also, if you know anyone who has owns one, i would be begging them for measurements ! ... As simply welding in new panels, could result in some shocking panel gaps / panel alignment issues.

Would it not be possible to just buy a ladder chassis, and drop the lot over it ?

That way you could be a bit cruder about it ???

Leave it and tidy that terrible mess up first.

I'm responsible for about 48% of the mess in the shed for dumping 340 parts all over the place.
