FSOMG should have bought a lada

Epic! Are these essentially the same as the Fiat 125 cargo?

Almost.

The FSOs continued to use the old Fiat 1300/1500 SOHC engine, whereas the Fiat 125 had a new DOHC.

The guy I'm getting the FSO from was saying he thinks the Caro's have some kind of adapter to run peugeot engines. He thinks you'd be able to use them to run peugeot engines in Ladas, Fiats, FSO's etc.

They were just different bellhousings on the FSO boxes IIRC. I changed a lot of them under warranty as the torque of the XUD used to kill them,,, Very light boxes- you could lift them above your head yourself easily...

You're more than welcome to try buying it, what makes you think he'll sell you it?

Might have to delay collection for another week as I might be busy collecting this!

An early one, pre-'74 IIRC. Does it have the 1854cc engine?

Dunno... What's this one?

It's 170 miles from me in a northerly direction, no tax or test, it runs. I'm trying to think the best way to get it home.

Looks like it's been left on a cypriot building site.

It's SAAB's 2 litre redesign of the Triumph slant 4 engine.

Ok Update! I'm looking at the Saab tomorrow that means I can spend the whole of today dedicated to getting the fso home!

Wish me luck!
