WANTED - RELIANT ENGINE SPEARS OR REAPERS

I've shifted small Daihatsu blocks on my own, not upstairs tough, does it need to be from a classic?

Posted

Ideally yeah I think it does, a modernish belt-driven 16v probably isn't arty enough for my needs!!

Posted

I can just about lift a 2CV engine from the floor to workbench height on my own. Not sure I'd like to tackle stairs!

Posted

Prob doesnt help but I can carry a vaux x16xe from the back of a TNT truck about 40 yards into my workshop . damn heavy tho

Posted

A bare VW engine is definitely too heavy for one person, even with the flywheel off it's too much up some stairs.

This bird is obviously a keeper if she's as barking as she sounds.  The moped engine suggested above sounds good, there are plenty of 2 cylinder bike engines too, lots are aircooled if she wants the cylinders ribbed, for extra sensation.

I lug stuff about for a living and the most I'd want to try carrying up a flight of stairs is three cases of fizzy pop.  That's 36kg or so.

Posted

A bare reliant engine is a lot lighter than 59kg,is without alternator, fannymoulds etc, changed many on my own (they are dropped from underneath) and carried up the drive etc.used a bare block as a planter box before lol.

BollHax sir, i have two of these things laying around my unit, one has the "S" stamped in, which i think refers to some sort of pump ... or something.

Either way, buy me a bottle of Lucozade and a bag of Haribo, and you can take them.
Being serious by the way.

WHAT ON EARTH!!!! this is the best offer of all time. Can I come up and fetch one on Saturday morning? I will spend a bit of time on Sat afternoon cleaning it up. Awesome!!!!

Hey Boll, is your GF doing her art GCSE or something?

Stairclimber%20sack%20truck%203-500x500.

If you think about it a bit, maybe you can make the truck part of the exhibit.

Or leave it in her cupboard necessitating a return visit. 8)

I am quite literally glued to this thread. It's betterer than "don't tell the bride" for drama and intrigue... What will he pick? Will she like it?! Imagine the clip where Bol's betrothed takes her giggling bridesmaids and gently sobbing mother to the local scrap yard to show them the exact 2litre V6 that she's dreamed of since she was a child and cut back to MrB handing over a pack of star mix for a dusty old Reliant engine and spending the rest of the budget on a rover 75.

Well the date is happening next weekend. Must admit i have never given a lass a 'full engine' on a first date before as its not generally my style.

Seeing as the AS community is helping me out with my love life I will feed back on whether the 850 all-alloy ohv unit is a winnAr with the lady in question.

Posted

I'd rather see a picture of her 'oven' if we get a choice.

Posted

If you're sorted now Mr B I'd remove the phone number from the first post.

Is this thread going to finish with bin bags, rope, weighed down and anal? :D

Christ, this is getting a bit hardcore for a Wednesday afternoon!

Hopefully it won’t, but if I don’t post owt after next Saturday then it might have done, if someone could have a look round oxford for an abandoned Primera GT that will hopefully help me get found.

You'll do well to find a parking space in Oxford, good luck with that

Yo! Have any shiters got a phone number for minimad??? If so could I ask you to pm it to me?? Need to get my love token sorted out. Cheers!!

Posted

Minimad's offer is incredible. I'd be asking four tins of Bank's Mild and a box of York Fruits for my motor.

Posted

If it helps you could park the primera in thame by my back gate for a few days? Plan it right I could drop you in Oxford too... I sort of know where I'm going there, if not swmbo will know!

If i were homeless, hungry and thirsty,

I would be stealing all Reliant engines, as Mr Bollox has given me the motherload of Lucozade and Haribo.

Hope the engine and bits are good for you squire.

So when she's all wet and asks you how much it cost you could finish her off by saying it cost a 6 pack of original lucozade and 4 packs of starmix...

Classy!
