)))) yeah I got a phonecall at about 11pm a few days back and was told Danut is about to tackle the dials. He bought another set of dials for spare parts and circuit board as mine was fried apparently. He then asked if I wanted the mileage back to zero, and talking about it and considering it really is getting a new lease of life I thought why not......not like anyone will be bothered about its lacking full service history )))))

 

Does anyone know, or have, a ford escort RS steering wheel? From the original pics, it turns out that's the steering wheel that was originally on the car but it's all been missing since I've had the car. I know it's not an "original" part, but the interiour seems to be a mix and Mach of all different parts which make the difference between a standard shifter and this, a Shifterossa.

 

So if anyone has or knows of a ford escort RS steering wheel in good nick do please let me know.

Primer with a bit of red mixed in, don't ask why.......apparently this is the way the body guy does it.

Those RS steering wheels are big money now and those with them don't tend to part with them, hopefully you'll score lucky.

I'll be keeping an eye on ebay that's for sure.

 

Some of you may notice the grill and headlight surround are similar to the ones on an R12 USA and Australia export models and that's because that's exactly where it originates from. It's not a Dacia original part but I personally believe it will complete the front end look much much better. I've been accused of all sorts, that I'm not keeping the car original, that I'm ruining the car etc etc - I personally really like it and think it will set it off really nicely at the end........fingers crossed.

So this is where you can all chip in and seal it future. I am yet to decide on a particular shade of red so if you fancy, please post a picture of a car with a red you really like and maybe just maybe that will be it's final colour. Remember, it needs to be red

Actually, thinking about it, my imagination of eastern Europe in the time of the Dacia pick up is of a sort of perma-seventies style so a red of an orangy base would suit it I think.
