Who's running the highest mileage shite ?

ntv 650 is on 114k

In my experience bike mileage -> car mileage is at a similar ratio to cat years -> human years, so that's a well-traveled little beastie.

One 124's on 330k+, another looks impressive at 487342 but that's km. Both run very well. I think the A6 is at 260ish, needs a pair of front wings though. Mechanically great, but ready for a cambelt - did the IP drivebelt recently and it was a bit knackered. All superb veg-munchers.

I have hardly ever had any cars that could be considered high mileage, in fact most I have owned have been under 70k but at the moment I have a couple that have clocked up a few. My prairie has just ticked over 160k, which is no mean feat with a CA18 engine... they're not the toughest of engines. It's still going strong though and when I had the head off it at about 147k, there was virtually no wear to be seen. I reckon if i keep changing the oil regularly it'll see 200 or 250k.

My old Bluebird has got over 185k on it but then it is 52 years old. Mind you, for 38 of those years it was layed up (in a barn no less) so I guess it managed to clock up those miles in 14 years really, which equates to over 13k a year.

I had a Transit Tourneo with 427,000 on the clock when I weighed it in. Current 09 plate Mongdeo has covered 138,000.

53 vectra 1.8 is on 139k,Honda c90 on a s plate is on nearly 32k. It went for its most last november at 21k so the c90 does a lot of miles. My dads transit is a 56 plate and a month ago was on nearly 398k but he uses it as a taxi so probably over 400k now

C4 is on 137k.

305 van is at 173k.

Not sure what the Amazon's done but I reckon it's over 300,000 - I have MoTs from twenty years ago showing 200,000 and climbing.

52k on the Smart.

73k on the Focus.

Am I doing this right?

As for the Minor, who knows....

A measly 110k on the BMW.

I had a v8 RR Classic a few years ago which had 160k on it when wrote it off.

37,862 on the Allegro 1100. Speedometer packed up at 2,000 miles. It was off the road for 20 years. I plan to keep it as long as possible and see how long I can make it last before it wears out, but the trouble is I'm just not doing the mileage anymore: maybe 5,000 a year now, if that.

I have 280k on my Passat still on the original clutch and the wife has around 190k on her Pug 306.

Highest mileage in the current fleet is the Rover 75 on 230K.  Still running fine (puffs a bit of smoke if caned from cold, but fine after that, and passed the MOT emissions test with flying colours - 0.18 smokes per million when the limit is 1.50), but the mileage is making it a bugger to sell.

Highest mileage car I've ever owned was a Volvo 740 estate - 2-litre petrol manual on an F plate, in vgc all round apart from a fucked headlining.  I used it as my tow car to retrieve chod from around the country until the fuel pump packed up at 318,000 miles and I sold it for spares.  Highest milage vehicle was the Leyland Roadrunner at 686,000 km, but then those old Cummins diesels are barely run in at that mileage.

Although if we are measuring this in terms of "how many of these high miles have you actually done" I'd loose as I bought it high a and jumped straight into the quarter of a million club!

I've done 135k miles in the BX, 100k in the Stellar, 46k in the van and only 20k in the Disco.

Yeah, I've done about 600 in the ZX, 14k in the XM, about 8k in the old ZX and 15k in the Puma!

Blimey 280k!!! I suppose im not that surprised but.... 190k in a modern Froggie 206 seems really high! Well done.

I belive Mrs Parcgwyn has a 306 - 190K on one of those is not unheard of.  190K on a 206 would be a miracle of almost Tories-winning-the-next-election proportions.

I just came back to add - the highest mileage bike I've had was a Diversion 600 with 86K on the clock.  I believe Mr. Hairnet's mean machine would knock that into a cocked hat though.

A teeny 19,800 on the 2012 C'eed, every one is mine but it shared daily duties with other cars for a good portion of its life and only gets used properly at weekends. About 52,000 on the CG125, all done by the original owner between 1988 and 1997 which is pretty impressive.

Newly purchased Skoda is on 199k and the Porsche is on 176k. I refuse to say anything about how well they run as that will cause them to self destruct immediately.

Highest I've had was this, an ex traffic Discovery V8. Just think how much fuel this thing must've got through...

I'm impressed. Is it on its original engine? If it is, that's mighty good going for a Rover V8.

Mechanically it was very good and took me off road for the first time no bother. The body however was fooked and my off road antics caused the body mounts to start to collapse. Engine was fine and healthy but I doubt it'd be the original. It went on to become a donor to a boy with a 110.

I think I may be winning for the highest mileage on a currently owned car.

290,000 miles on my '88 Toyota Supra 3.0i It ticked over to 290,000 while being blasted around Castle Combe circuit at break neck speed on Friday and still going as strong as ever, even if it did boil the brakes.

The Volvo has done 233,000 miles, yet it seems happy enough* :)

*It would be happier if I got an MOT for it, though; it's not been driven for nearly a month, due to the old one expiring on 20th June...

I had a L reg Mondeo 1.8 petrol in 2003 that had done 273000 and it drove great. It was a ex Edinburgh airport taxi.

My Vectra has just thrown its cam chain at a mere 104000.

My 1992 Jaguar Sovereign is low mileage for its age. It has done just under 98,000 miles

100k is considered high in chez Ghosty.

Old Man's Civic 1.4i SE on 86k

Mother Ghosty's intolerably slow, miserable, slushmatic ten year old Polo on 56k.

Hmmm - in the last 20 years I`ve had 3 cars:

1994 Peugeot 405 SRDT, L reg, bought new, sold November 2004 with 385742 on the clock, all done by me. Should have been showing over 400,000 but spent the last 9 months of its time with me without a working odometer.

2000 Citroen Synergie HDi, bought 2004 with 99k showing (genuine). Sold October 2013 with 258,761 showing.

No car from October 2013 to May 2014 due to an operation on my right hoof, and a new knee...

April 27th 2014, bought a Vauxhall Zafira 1.6 16V, 81399 showing - spent a fortune on it up to now and it`s showing 85,514.

Hardly a shiter`s record.................. !

This thread would make me feel guilty about all the mileages I'd adjusted* over the years, if I'd ever done that of course.
