Legal advice regarding neighbour and shite cars.

There are people like this everywhere. I live in a small block of 5 flats, or apartments whatever you want to call them, there is this retired copper aged about 80 downstairs who has absolutely no life and sits there all day waiting for someone to park in the wrong parking bay or even worse, park 2 cars out there even though there is a spare space and no other neighbour gives a shit where they park, but he feels its his duty to police the 5 precious parking bays, such a sad old twat.

Driving the granny through his French doors has not ever crossed my mind.

I have a bottle of lawn feed.

I feel a late night neat cock drawing sesh coming on.....

being patient/turning the other cheek/takeing moral high ground, doing nuisance diarys are all a waste of time, been there done that as have several others I know.

powers that be will do sweet fa.

the only real ways to deal with this are

1. give up.

2.short sharp shock to them,

these sort of people will not be reasonable there way is the only way as far as their concerned.

like you all I want is to be left alone to enjoy my life.

my neighbours don't care, give them no grief (noise/smells/eyesores)i'm single have 8 cars,a trailer & caravan here at mo, only 2 & caravan are semi visable. but about 10 years ago we had an old git (68) move in across the rd who would abuse/bully anyone esp woman, I ended up making myself more physically/mentally ill which he played on, the council, police, etc where all contacted but when they could be bothered to do anything (letters/ chats) would cause a cessation for a week if we were lucky,  until a friend of the family  was so angry about the state I was getting into he arranged (un be knownest to me) for someone to point out to him that if he didn't alter his ways he would befall various injurys.

his son knew this person had a reputation & was not to be messed with.

for the last 3 years I've had no more problems,i'm not saying it will get to this with you but don't think that just because council are happy your not doing anything wrong that he will be.

he will only stop the harressment when you stop doing what your doing or he finds a new target.,

Saw a big circle right round his house 'Tom & Jerry' style, when you have sawn all the way round his house will drop through the hole and that's the last you'll hear of him.

Could just post him a note with a link to this thread, maybe then he'd realise he's a dick.

Joking aside, thanks for the advice and superb* suggestions.

I'll just keep quiet for now and see if anything else develops.

In my experience (after many years working for such a "powers that be" organisation), there is very little, if anything, that can be done.  If the activities or processes being complained about do not turn out to be as severe or as reported, there is nothing to be done.  However, what is often the case is that if you concentrate all your energies on what's going on next-door to the exclusion of everything else, you become obsessed by it and it appears bigger (if not a humongous amount bigger) than it really is.  You become the only person convinced that the level of noise/smell/nuisance is so high as to be totally intolerable whereas in reality it is the sort of thing that reasonable neighbours manage to adjust to without becoming obsessive.

There, that's my 2 pence worth!

Best way. Had an argument with a pair of kill-joys over parking when I lived with the parents, it died down after we finally confronted them (with words). Calmed down after that.

Facebook group's getting a bit out of hand, innit?

Interesting.  One of our neighbours once a year puts up a marquee in their back garden, hires a live band, and parties very loudly until 3am.

This is a terraced row and so even though he's a couple of doors down it's *censored* loud.

It drives me properly foaming at the mouth mentally mad.  No one else seems to give a damn.  Funny that.

Just get one of those old-fashioned squeezy horns like clowns have, then every time talks pull it out and make it go honk-honk. Keep doing this every time he tries to speak.

I've never actually spoken to him!

Sounds about right. Angry enough to complain, not gutsy enough to have it out in person. Sad.

We got several bitchy notes on the car and through the post box. They only stopped to talk when I legged it out of the house as he bailed for his missus' car. They were so panicky she stalled. He happened to put his C&P, highlighted note of brilliance through the door as I was walking past.

This bloke won't do anything. He clearly has too much time on his hands.

And don't worry about the FB group, you've got it all to yourself now :D

He loves to take photos, last time i was there i took a few of him, I'll post them later... I wonder what shit banger website he's been looking at?

Dodgy ground, dude. Won't help derskine in this instance.

So, derskine, I've just browsed through this and haven't found out yet, when exactly is the Autoshite meet at your house?

Since when does one have to prove one's innocence?

Post Blair. If you open a new bank account, they assume you're a fraudster and require multiple proofs of who you say you are. If you're a motorist and dare have more than one car but allow one to run out of road tax, because you're not using it, the authorities require you to prove you haven't been doing so. If you don't send off this declaration you're obviously a criminal.

Seems you get them everywhere then.

I'm considering unliking that page, there's too much modern crap posted, seems to be 80% people who just think autoshite is a page about cars, not actually knowing what a shite car is.

An autoshite meet would certainly piss him off, but is also likely to piss everyone else off too, all of the other surrounding neighbours are sound people.

Best off not pulling any tit for tat moves. as breadvan72 suggested. However, if he does discover the stones to have a word with you, don't have it out - chat instead. He seems like the type that would

At the risk of drifting off topic, I sacked the FB group off because of the ill-informed gobshites on there, several of whom complained about me.

They're welcome to it.

I had this a few years back when we had 5 Imps and an Audi scattered about the place , someone reported me that i was running a garage / car breakers from home .

Council came around and asked me questions about each one , replies i gave were

my daily , my other daily and my emergency daily , scrap car for parts for the two latter daily cars plus another scrap car i didnt want but was free , and finally my stepdaughters knackered imp that needs parts which strangely are coming off the two scrappers all were in my name and legit except my stepdaughters was in her name so nout to do with me .

Do you charge your stepdaughter to fix her car was a question , yep i said , a box of chockys and she makes me a coffee .

My final comment was " you try keeping these piles of shit on the road with no spares backup and see how you cope "

never heard anything after the visit but i did clear a few out within a month .

Absent any breach of planning control or environmental rules, the Council can do Jack.  Obviously, it is best to be as good neighbourly as you can be, in all things.  You are not obliged to answer any detailed questions or justify your actions . It is sufficient to say, "No, I am not running  a business.  These are all private cars."

I wish good luck to you with this as you have the moral high ground IMHO.

Personally, I find keeping the scrap cars more or less together and washed without bits scattered about, and if necessary covered up helps.

Have I ever strayed from that?  Yes - of course!

well as it was a pleasant neighbourhood before he moved in ,reg threatened people, caused 4 familys to move, two petitions to be gathered & it was found that he'd been moved twice due to similar situations (later admitted by housing & that each time they hoped that putting him in known good areas would calm him down) then I don't think I/we where misreading it.

it was also found that they didn't want to do anything due to the expense of wages, resources, court fees etc & that basically hopeing we'd get fedup & go away.

if your guy has a garage business contact environmental health give false details if need be. & say hes burning old oil for heating, weighing his scrap/batteries etc in & playing radio in area used by customers .

these all require licences.

Or:  don't.  Why be a malevolent dick just because someone bothers you?  What are we, ten year olds?

had this many years ago and the bell end call local plod naming me and my friend(who didn't live there) for running around in untaxed cars too...

police game in found all vehicles on road all legal and couldn't give a dam about what was behind my fence, and council man said he couldn't divulge who'd reported me, even though he pointed by accident at an address..
