Saab liked to compare their planes with their cars, the 900 TV advert had a Viggen swooping past, & was directed by Tony Scott a few years before making Top Gun.

The advert even inspired lines in the movie...

"I feel the need, the need for Swede!"

This looks like the Great West Road, in Hounslow (but I'm probably wrong!) If I'm right, I challenge anyone to have a picnic there today!

I believe its in north London, possibly The Great Cambridge Road or North Circ, but I may be wrong.

Interesting to see a different version of that photo. A slightly cropped version appeared in a 1978 issue of Autocar, complete with caption:

Bad start to a holiday - Kingston-Upon-Thames 1972

Ah, so I was wrong! I`m sure I have a very similar picture that's on the south part of the Great Cambridge Road in Edmonton/Tottenham, they do look similar!
