Possibly had this one before, can't remember. Looks quite tidy but had the appearance of being sat for a while.

Today I found these whilst going to view a motorbike...

Shame that Transit based van appears to be so poorly maintained judging from the MOT history.  Not sure whether that's because it's used so little or it's used so little because it's held together by duct tape and prayers...

Yum.

They’re actually quite handsome things, Viva HCs (and HBs for that matter).

Look at the clean glass area with no quarter windows — very unusual for 1970. There are some neat details like the slim rear lights, the smooth curve of the line above the side windows, the point at the centre of the front bumper.

If they were Italian and more scarce, I think people would get quite excited about the styling.  Familiarity has bred contempt.

I’d love a droop snoot HP Firenza. They were properly futuristic in the mid 1970s.

You can have an apology for this gopping thing and it's laughable plate...

Good day, yesterday.  Dragged the Lada out for the commute...

Then the Magnum (further above) was back, and these two were present later on...

A yard quite full of stuff, there were at least 2x405s, two Rover 800s (one saloon, one limo) and lots of other shit.

I'd imagine the lada is long gone by now seeing as that post was from March.

Not sure when I'll be back there, if at all, but will certainly get more pictures if I have chance.

Sorry, went a couple of months back now. Got plagued by a couple of proper, full on weirdos/nut jobs (worse than the usual) but it found a happy home with a nice bloke in Devon.

It's not far from you at all I'd imagine, captain. I'll message you details anon, I don't know the owner/s of the yard, it was a sort of chance encounter. It'd probably be worth going to see them though and having a chat.

There were two SD1s in the last photo, one a sort of red or brown or rust coloured.

What happened to that poor octy?

Best guess is stolen and dumped, or broke down and vandalised. It's on an odd bit of land on an industrial estate, near an emergency exit road for a factory, 50 yards from a security hut I think. Amazed nobody has taken the alloys (and other stuff) off it yet.

I saw that Citroen Van  on the same recovery truck in Chester on Thursday!

Someone's definitely had some fun with the brick that's on it. I wonder if it belongs to someone on that site.

Broken down is my guess as well. It's vag after all. For that reason no one would steal it either.

Last tested in early 2016 with 200k on the clock. Last V5 in 2016 too. Looks like it's ready to be weighed in - best thing for it if it's anything like the fLabia of the same era. Bloody horrible things.

Wonder if there's a connection or its just coincidence? Hats off to whichever legend drove this over though...

Sorry to hear that you had headaches when it came to selling the Lada on.  Wasn't just me then...if that's the sort of crowd they're now attracting it may well be the last one I have as I can't be done going through that again.

No worries, captain, it's just how it is these days, plus the bonus of being able to email two or three fuckwits saying 'sold for the full price' helped.

Meanwhile, them arches tho M8...

I suspect they helped it pass its most recent MoT. The Union Jack sticker above the name badge on the wing is also an indication of TRUE CLASS.

Much want for the 1960’s Lincoln Continental in Sunday’s pics.
