Hi guys it's a Dublin reg issued in 1968 to some posh bloke in blackrock. There's only one entry in log book . . Not quite sure what to do with it but it needed saving from scrappy.

"Required repairs for an MOT" would mean "restore it completely", I guess!

You will look like a HERO driving around in that. Girls will be queuing up for a roll in the back seat once the rat shit is gone.

I don't think it looks that bad from the photos does it, I mean its pretty much complete and everything seems to have close to the original edges? The bootlid might be an indicator of things to come though, whats its undercrackers like?

What are your plans for it? Sounds like a lot of work tbh.

Do your plans include the probability of selling it to me?

If not, what is needed to change your plans in this respect?

I bow to your greatness. That is a fine automobile and I look forward to seeing a comprehensive picture filled  repair thread, pretty please.

Did someone just say Autoshite pool car?

Where is the car currently located?

I seem to remember Ted Neville expressing an interest in it, when it was up for sale in Dublin a few Months back.

Unfortunately news about it being for sale reached me too late back then.

This deserves its own 'Spy who came in from The Cold' moment.

You can knock up a B&Q shed, paint it white and use an old scaffold tube for the barriers.

Just wait for some snow on a moonlit evening....

Judging by the amount of water the Audi had let in during the last month since I drove it, it could well be a great nomination for the Autoshite 'pool' car too.

I'm here all week, try the veal.

So this is the Opel equivalent to the PC Cresta/Viscount?  Must be fantastically rare, there are so few PCs left here let alone an Opel.

You deserve all the congratulations you've had for saving this from scrap.  We'd all love to see more pictures.   Thanks....

No, it's actually a step above those. Also, in this era, Opel followed a completely different philosophy than Vauxhall did.
