This is an opel admiral I picked up lately. Really only fit for spares... and full of rat poo. But still think it's a class car. Note reg nzl 1last taxed in 84.

If it is a v8 you will be proclaimed autoshite world champion

Useless fact.........if it is the V8 , that engine was supposed to go into the FD Ventora, until Vauxhall bottled it, and stuck with the LESS economical staright 6 boat anchor, one of the most ridiculously carbrettored engines of all time...............

Posted

.....it was called the " lazy fireball". 123 bhp from 3.3 litres.

Lazy? Yes. Fireball? No.

The V8 was an expensive option for the Admiral, but standard in the Diplomat, hence only 623 people of EVAH shelled out the extra doh for it without going for a Diplo straight away.

I'd be surprised if any of the 623 V8 Admis were RHD, on the other hand I've seen horses puke.

Didn't the 3.3 Ventora have the same four-speed gearbox as the Viva, or am I spouting even more crap than usual?

Ventora's could have OVERDRiVE.

NB. We are only rambling on about 3.3Vauxhalls to fill in the time before more Opel bargeness is revealed.

Nah, two-speed Powerglide for ultimate* agility*.

Entirely btw, was it already mentioned that we need pics of the Admi?

Sorry for being off topic but I will defend the 3.3 Vauxhall lump,i had one of the last ventoras on a p plate with the 3 speed gm auto box, bloddy flying machine and 100 mph was only 3200rpm so there was no need to rev it hard, smooth, quiet and not too terrible on juice,KTM80P long dead, shame a great car.

Original post says last taxed '84 so it must be UK, not on DVLA for obvious reasons.
